my opt expires on jan 6th. my masters program start from june. i can hang on till feb 6th. There is no kaplan institute near around me too. my job is not everified too. what will be the best option for me to save my status? any suggestions friends.

Hey Anugaman, Its been a long time for me...so I might not be totally right. However, I knew that it used to be that after you OPT expires, you have 60 Days to have H1-Status, and if I remember it right 5 months of Grace period only if you are going back to school. You should verify with your International Adviser (or, International Programs), and they should be able to tell you. But, mind you that you can not legally work during any of those grace periods. My information might be outdated, so best thing would be to go and talk to your International Programs' office.

i agree wit Americano.....ate your OPT expirs, yu have 60 days grace period to get a new I-20 and join college. But still, consult with your intenatinal advisor. Al the best to you
