Hi all,

I am a PhD student and want to apply for permanent residency through EB2 NIW (National Interest Waiver). Has anybody gone through this process and can shed some light on all small details that need to be considered? I am going to apply without the help of attorney, thus I need as much information as possilbe to make sure everything is right.

Thanks in advance.

do you have sufficient papers publsihed? You may want to hire a lawyer unless you have a strong base. NIW is scrutinized a lot.

danfe123,

ma recently euta immigration seminar ma gaaki thiye. a nepali PhD student asked a question about EB2 and he got the reply that unless you have 30 to 40 publications at least, its not an easy task. he got the suggestion that its better to apply for H1B first and then ko for green card. so base on that i think you need to have a fairly good number of publications. hope that helps a little.

30 to 40 papers publishing?? I consulted with one nepali professor here in midwest, he told me that 2 to 3 parers are enough. U can be even be a co-authors of the papers.

Hi,

Have you tried EB2 NIW? You must have done with it now, right? Please share your experience.

There are many Do it
yourself packages selling from $45 to $90 range. All of them seems to be
a pdf document, collection of some 40-50 pages being delivered to you
through email after you pay them.

I wonder if some of you
successful EB2 NIWers can share those documents to fellow sajhaites, as
you have the pdf and it does not cost you to share them to others who
are researching about EB2 NIW like myself.

If you do not mind
sharing your EB2 NIW application package or guideline collection or any
useful documents with me, please email me at sajhaa at yahoo dot com. You may remove your confidential information. Even if you elect to share your confidential information with me, I guarantee that none of your confidential information will go out from me.

Thanks
