- http://www.notcanada.com/jobs/jobs1.htm Armed with degrees, they drive our cabs Thousands of professionals have been lured to Canadian cities like London with promises of lucrative careers and a prosperous, secure future in a new land. Once they get here, the reality is sobering. And dream-shattering.

Hey KTMDude, you have done a great job by bringing this nasty issue to surface. Thank you so much for that!! I have come across many dreamers in Nepal who wanted to go to Canada for a better life and there are more coming in the queue. Is there a way that we could get this link (video) out to some of the well known nepali sites back home or to the media folks so that our brothers and sisters and spared of this broken dream. I think we should all try to make this information public in Nepal. There are indian lawyers and nepali firms who are taking few lakhs of Rs. to send the ignorant people to this loser's land..... any suggestinos!! This will be a great service to your community and country at large...

you know whaT? without knowing or expereince, don't be so stupid to believe all these websites, you cannot trust anything unless you see it! So if you don't like Canada, fine don't go there, some of you on sajha may dislike Canada but that's not gonna affect canada, According to 2005, Canada is one of the world's top 5 best living countries! Canada also has the best health care after New Zealand. It's not like US where you have to wait for hours for any check up or where you have to pay lots of money whereas it's free in canada except for the dental care. Tax depends on how much money you make, if you're very rich, you pay lot of tax, if you've low salary, you may not have to pay tax at all. So its all even, its better than America, also in culture, Canada lets people keep their culture unlike the US. US is world's 10th best living country, now Canada's definitely better at living comparing to the US.

Hey Pinky, u r out of your mind to say those things about canada....I am saying it from real experience....I have literally come across people, and many people who have said the same things in the exact same words as those in the video. Trust me! The site gives a real good picture of what life is like for 90% of the immigrants living there...of course there would be exceptions, but by all means they don't constitute the rule. The fact is that Canadian gov't wants cheap low class laborers but implemented a tight point system to bring in the most qualified people to do their menial jobs. Canada has good infrastructure, but job opportunities are extremely low. One can't just enjoy the nice road and huge malls without $$ in the pocket right!! There are many master degree holders from USA and Canada who are doing telemarketing which barely supports their family in dingy apartments. And ya, it is true, whatever you earn the gov't takes at least 60% away in the name of various taxes....

no that's not true, the people you've come across with are prolly unemployed and lazies, if you look around, there are plenty of oppurtunities and job unless you're really old or dumb. People cna definitely collect 1 out of 100s who dislike canada and then tape their videos on how much they dislike Canada, there may be 1 or 2 Anti-Canada websites but there are lots os websites that tell how Canada's one of the world's top 5 countries! Majority rules!, those are just some rare people there! or your friends have probablly just immigrated, hang in there, it will be alright after 4-5 years! And again, Canada's far better thna America when it comes to living, very clean, organised and not SO conjusted traffic like America's as well!

The notcanada.com might have been created by xenophobic canadian people who don't want more foreigners in their country. Something to think about.

OK OK So CANADA is bad ... Hmmmm but ... well question is compared to what? If those Phds and all those with academic degree cannot get the BHAU they wanted in Canada, why are they there in the first place. Iraq needs Phds more than Canada, Afghanistan needs more doctors than in Canada so why those Phds and doctors dont stay in Iraq and in Afghanistan.or at least immigrate to the places where they think the grass is greener. Its so absurd that you immigrate to a country and demand things to be serve in a silver plate. Bhusan. your points are actually valid for all the countries .. well may be except Nepal where we have nice weather and all the cultures we want to have.. but still people like you and me are residing in these countries never thinking of going back. Well the world is open market .. you have to sell yourself. If Canada dont give you the right price, try your luck with others. For me Canada is one of the nicest place. I felt safe, secure, had chance to earn money so my relatives can built big house in Nepal, and I could brag about being in a developed country , to my friends..

Well not only in Canada..its the same thing in USA too. People know that in US you can not make your way to the college just by working in a gas station/ delivering Pizza etc. Out of 100% how many graduate?? Managing work/study/finance is a hard job. Only who are determined that is no more than 10% finish their study and the rest is just working and paying the tuiton fee to the college just to maintain their legal status. Look at the people who got DV visa its the same issue..how many DV visa holder got a good job. In canada they give visa through point system here in US they give lottery and invite people to do the job that US people wont do. BUt people know it and they still come here so people dont complain.

as i am seeing in US, nepali students are really studying hard and getting bachelor degree or master degree no matter what, and got the better job too. maybe there are not 100% nepali student graduate and not getting better job too, but compare to UK, Australia,or anyother country nepali students are really doing good here. it's obvious whoever got the DV , they are so happy to come in US, whether they are Dr. or engineer ......!!! because it's way much better than being in nepal currently. may be you guys are from US,UK, Australia or Canada now, but think about it...what would you be thinking if you are in Nepal now? think about nepali ppl in nepal now, where are they dying to go for ...??? there is no where like US and Canada in the world for nepali ppl where you can get PR easily now, especially Canada is being much easier for nepali ppl. i don't think so it's appropritate to be comment about US and Canada. PEACE

I think the immigrant experiences vary. Sure, like this guy, there are many who could not meet their expectation upon landing in Canada. But I have met quite a few Nepali people who are doing quite well as new Canadians. Fact is, when you become a Canadian PR or citizen, you are then on a level playing field and will have to compete with your fellow Canadians for jobs and other opportunities. If you are not able to, be it due to language insufficiency or because your degrees from old country do not meet Canadian standard, you have to rectify those points of failure. I am not saying the system cannot be better. But don't throw the baby with the bath water.

GUESS WHO IS THE LARGEST ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT IN THE USA AND WHY ---->CANADIANS. THIS IS THE TRUTH AND YOU CAN NOT DENY IT!!! IF YOU JUST GO AS A TOURIS TO CANADA OR TO VISIT SOMEONE, YES THE TRAFFIC WOULD LOOK NICE, AND IN FACT EVERYTHING WOULD LOOK GREAT .......MAYBE BETTER THAN HERE. BUT TRY TO FIND A JOB AND START PAYING TAX ...YOU WOULD FEEL YOU WERE NEVER THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE AND I AM NOT KIDDING AT ALL. DON'T MAKE YOUR VIEWS ON FIRST IMPRESSIONS OR FROM A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT PEOPLE'S CAREER AND DREAMS NOT A MONTH LONG VACATION ...... WAKE UP........
