Revolution, right, right, Revolution. The nation wants to topple the king and restore democracy and peace. We want a constituent assembly, multiparty democratic participation and the Maoists, if they put their arms down, are welcome on board, with their murderous resumes. It is very simple. Vanquish the king and his autocratic regime from the land and start again with those hungry and eager politicians. Then what? How is that going to solve the problem? It is not going to solve anything. Nepal's dilemma goes much deeper. At a time when China and India have grown exponentially and even, for heavens sake, a vagabond country like Bangladesh is competing with India and Pakistan for IT outsourcing, what the hell has Nepal done? Absolutely nothing. Chaos continues to brew and the nation is heading further down the spiral. While speaking to a colleague of mine a few days ago and hearing his non- biased assessment of Nepal, one thing rang so true. He said for some reason over the years Nepal has had a fundamental problem in translating skills and attained knowledge into progressive gains(monetary, academic..etc.). To put it blatantly, Nepalese people have not been focused and passionate about economic progression. They are not entrepreneurial. They care about short term personal gains and lack a true sense of patriotism or motivation. Rhetorically speaking, what is the work ethic of an "average" nepali? Are we hard workers across the board? The answer is an emphatic "NO." Nepal and the average Nepali is too laid back. How is that going to change? We have a false sense of pride that is not consistent, and a perverted sense of arrogance and superficiality. We are not action oriented people. I am not saying everyone, but the majority fits this profile. We accuse India, the US or whoever comes to mind for being conspirators. Why haven't we been able to develop any Industries? Why don't we have any good schools? Why are Nepalis constantly going to India and Pakistan and Europe and the US to get education? Nepal for its size and some good resources should have done a lot better. Nepal is the most underachieving country in the world! It is sad to say this but the country, even if granted democracy has deep and dark challenges and no vision or plan to tackle it. Democracy is the beginning of its problems.

The problem is that Gyanendra turned out to be a total dumbass. Everybody used to say that Gyanendra is one shrewd mo fo, but it turns out he is exactly the opposite. Felt like he went on a pissing contest; the guy totally pissed a whole lot of people. The idiot thought he could handle Maoists and Nepal ko parties haru at once, and now he has his hands full because of his idiocy. Oh, and Nepalis are conspiracy theorists as well. Somebody conducted a poll about whether Gyanendra conspired to kill Birendra, and more than 60% thought he was involved. LOL. I remember when students shouted "Birey chor desh chor" in the 90's revolution, but all of a sudden, when his own son kills him, he is suddenly a martyr. What happened to the "Birey chor desh chod" slogan?
