A 17th-century idol of Shankar Narayan was stolen from the heavily guarded Pashupatinath temple in Nepal Sunday night.

Pashupatinath temples is one of the seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites located in the Kathmandu Valley.

Even though a police beat is situated nearby, nobody came to know about the theft of the two-and-a-half feet tall idol until a construction worker reported it to the police.

"I noticed that the idol was not in its place at mid-night and I immediately informed the police," the worker told reporters Monday.

The 17th-century granite idol of Shankar Narayan had been laying exactly on the right side of the main gate of the Pashupatinath temple, the worker said on condition of anonymity.

Police personnel are responsible for the security on the premises for the temple. Besides the five-member police beat, the Pashupati Area Development Trust has deployed 18 securitymen for maintaining security around the temple.

Police have taken around 30 persons into custody for interrogation, revealed Shekhar Koirala, an inspector at a local police office

This is a true and fact example that we are having serious problem with Pashupati organize corruption and crimes by (1) Priests (2) Organizers and (3) Indian Sadu Babas.

Nepalese governments and communities? organization must be hunt, investigation and kick out to these corrupt, thieves and criminals from Nepal for good and forever.

In pashupati temple, 90% priests and sadu babas from India and Indian nationalities. Indian priests collect all their salary, donation, briberies and wealth, and they take all their wealth?s in India. Most of them have huge building (mansion) and land in India. Because storing illegal wealth in Nepal Bank is not secure to them. Most of priests and babas do illegal money Landry, smuggling, drug trafficking business. However they are priest in front of Nepali government and people.

Pashupathi Area Management and Priests are the most corrupt of Nepalese Religious Palace. Pashupati is one of the safest heavens for corruption and crime. Pashupati is the most dirtiest and dangerous place of Nepal. In pashupati, 99% Nepalese public do not know there are some the ancient Hidden or secret temple locate in Pashupati where priest and sadu babas committee their secret crimes.

Pashupathi must be clean from environment, socially, crimes and corruption.

reminds me of once upon a time when i went to pashupati withl handfull of laddoos and phulko malas..waiting in line from almost 4.30 in the morning..cuz of my hitler dad wanted me too ..and then this monkey and her babies jumped on me and i stood there like a breathless statue for two hours until they finish every one of those 108 laddoos, while the darn tourists/ and fellow worshippers instead of shooing away the monkeys watched me in a circle and started taking pictures..like i'm a circus joker..damn why do things happen to me only....

i just hope the statue is restored in one piece and is in better condition than i was back then..life as a statue sucks
