After staying here more than 8 years, now i am getting kinda sick and want to go back home !

Nothing like staying with mom and dad. Seriously man i have been missing my place a lot these days.

When i came to this country, i thought i wouldn't stay here more than 5 years but it looks like you'll get stuck here forever.

That's part of the life i guess, but now i really want to go home !

I've been here in the US for 11 years and i've decided i'm going back for good this time in hope  that i can do better in Nepal than what i've been able to do here. The whole thing with maintaning status just for the shake of not being illegal is taking a toll on me. I don't know if i can get what i want after i'm in Nepal but thats my last resort right now. Only thing i'd like to say is just keep your option open and if you want to head back home and explore i don't think its a bad idea. Good luck with your decision.

If you're NOT financially secure/well-off and what not, I'd strongly urge you to continue struggling here as sooner or later, you'll get what you're seeking. Else, you might be better off returning back if things aren't working out for you over here.

Good luck!

After 8-11 years Nepal is a totally different country. Especially Kathmandu. You wont believe how much crowded/dirty it is up here. I also came back to Nepal after many years, and I do not feel well going outside at all. Practically you gonna bump into others while walking down the street. Traffic is terrible. Your brain is wired up differently in US. Everything is clean and in order. Over here its a chaos.

One of my friend few years back, came from Nepal and I asked him the same question about moving back to Nepal. He told me that he is not going back to Nepal for good. I ask him the reasons. He could not give me any reasonalbe explanation instead he told me to go there once and then decide.

I am lucky that I have Canadian PR before I came back to Nepal and now I have an option.

But believe me, you practically gonna suffocate here. Dust, traffic, people, houses, dirt, load shedding, lack of water, You name it, its here.

Have you been living here like others, you might not feel it. But coming back from US, you gonna suffocate. Like I did.

This is just my personal experience and might not apply to all.

Jai Nepal.

Going back is a good option for many people. I personally not going to go back to settle but do like to go back once a year if I can to visit!!
But I would encourage people going back if they can.

Very true,
For me I have had enjoyed all my times in US except some few excruciating moments back then.
If you wanna leave for Nepal, leave right now.
It's easier said than done. Right?? Absolutely not because I've already bought a one way ticket to Nepal. I am leaving on Oct 17th.
I am coming home.
And guy_tensed, Good luck on your firm decision.

Go back if you already have a house. Ktm is very expensive. I am happy here and I go back once a year. This way I get the best of both worlds.

After a while everything begins to suck. The sameness of everyday begins to bore you out of your mind and you look for change and believe that the grass is greener on the other side. Once you go to the other side, you will enjoy the change of scenery for a little bit but after a while the monotony begins to set in and you begin to feel the same way.

Many people have told me that it is easier to bear the monotony in the US because there is less chaos and more facilities and better law and order. But it might work differently for different people. You might learn to like the chaos, the pollution, the dirt, the load shedding and everything that's lacking out there but who knows.

Lots of people have returned back to Nepal and more are returning. I know quite a few of them. Most of them are doing good. I lived in Nepal my 20+ years so I think I can live the next 20 years in Nepal. Can't I?

Most of young generations are going back not the old ones as the old ones are waiting for their house to be paid off and get social security money and then go back.

It's solely a personal decision. If you are not able to achieve a better life here in US,then it's good to go back to Nepal rather than suffering here.A good friend of mine(he was doing good here) just went back last week as he didnot like life here in US.Nowadays, more and more nepalese are going back .Personally, i know lots of returnees. It's about when you feel enough is enough.and Of course you can't compare Nepal with US,it's like making an excuse to yourself why you don't want to go back.

My suggestions to you all who are really dippressed, unsuccessful, unhappy, tired of maintaining status, do not see yourself getting ahead anytime soon, have a huge family responsibility back home and  ARE PRETTY SECURE FINANCIALLY BACK HOME.

Please go back. Life is too short and do not waste your life here.

I really salute those ppl who are bold enough to decide to go back to Nepal. I'm one of those nepalese who are not too bad financially in Nepal and doing not too bad in US as well. I'm not bold enough to leave all the good stuff I have in US and not selfish enough to forget the love of my parents, families and friends back home. Nepali ma bhancha ni ChiChi pani chaine PaPa pani chaine. May be that's why I call myself a True Nepali..lol
Jokes apart, it indeed is a very big decision.

People who have learned something, finished school n working in thier related profession dont wanna go back... Because they are finanically stable & may be doing back n forth

People who backed off from their responsibility, dropped out school, staying out of status working 7 days a week n have mastered on gas stn, obiviously there s frustation...N wanna go back !!

Just do not forget, you re going back to nepal... Beer is not cheaper than water over there !!!

प्रचण्ड हिजो बौलाहा थियो, आज पनि बौलाहा छ र भोलि पनि बौलाहानै  रही रहने छ!!

For those returning home: there's no place like home, go for it!! If you are from a well off family then even better. But if you are working your a*s off just to barely make your ends meet while in the US then its better to be back home. On the same note, if you think that you are going to create a history by going home or will be able to bring an industrial revolution by your experience here in the US, or returning back just cos you feel very very patriotic ( देश को माया ले ओतप्रोत भन्छन नी) then i say, "wake up dude, you are well off here in the US". So going back for good, NOT ME.

FYI,
