In early 1970 the anti-monarchy Sikkim National Congress Party demanded fresh elections and greater representation for the Nepalese.

In 1973, anti-royalty riots in front of the palace led to a formal request for protection from India. India worried that an unstable Sikkim would invite Chinese to act on its claims that Sikkim was part of Tibet, and therefore part of China. The Indian Government appointed a Chief administrator, Mr. B. S. Das, who effectively wrested control of the country away from the Chogyal.

Frosty relations between the Chogyal and the elected Kazi (Prime Minister) Lhendup Dorji resulted in an attempt to block the meeting of the legislature. The Kazi was elected by the Council of Ministers which was unanimous in its opposition to the retention of the Monarchy. Matters came to a head in 1975 when the Kazi appealed to the Indian Parliament for representation and change of status to statehood. On April 14, 1975, a referendum was held, in which Sikkim voted to merge with the union of India. Sikkim became the 22nd Indian State on April 26, 1975. On May 16, 1975 Sikkim officially became a state of the Indian Union and Lhendup Dorji became head of State (chief minister)

i  fully support you. Maoists are against the Nepal founder monarchy but not against the India.  i have never heard any word they spoke  infavour of Nepal in boarder  encroachment and other issues.  Maoist were nurtured,  financed( financial and arms), trained  with the aegis of RAW just to kick out the India's greatest enemy monarchy of Nepal and  pave the path of  sikkimisation  to Nepal.

  Nepalese maoist are  totally backed by International spy agency. All people know that RAW is the most powerful strategic spy agency, though it acts like a slow poison, in the world.

 

World turmoil in 1970s and 80s were really difficult for Nepalese ruler, and then they coin the word of “zone of peace” to save Nepal and nepali. It was a great political tactic of king Birendra, to save Nepal from acclivity and declivity of world politics. But it is amazing to me and most of intellectual  nepali people, the monarchy never compromise and bow towards India , rather it liked to isolate from the rest of world. Even King gyanendra advocated in favor of china.

This popularity and supportive whim of zone of peace was great obstacle for RAW and could not hijack Nepali sovereignty, whereas same time they seized Sikkim . It is fortunate for nepali people that zone of peace was supported by many super powers and  same time  death of  Rajiv Gandhi was major God favor to Nepal , otherwise Nepal would be a part of India . So until 1990 raw was totally failed to encroach to Nepal , it may be, because of unity among diversity was there and all  were supporting  to the plans, policy and programs forwarded by Monarchy and Nationalists group.  .  After observing this   unity, RAW had to break the socioculturally united backbone of Nepal .

The RAWs main step wise policy, so far I know, can be summarized as. For each cracking points they candid with different names

 

Firstly, the strong hold and faith of Nepali people to monarchy had to be  cracked which was main strategy and whims; it is “Monarch Drop” program of   RAW. KV Rajanians are silent after RAW informed him about the grand design.  (In history of Nepal and India , monarchy never bow to   India ). For this target, India  pushed  Mongolian  Nepalese people  to raise the voice against  the Brahmin and  chhetry,   arya and King  which are  slowly being politically marginalized, though they are highly nationalists’ safeguards of modern Nepal . Total   allocation on this program   to the end of 2007 is – 112732767$  so far I know.  For this, RAW heavily invested to the Maoist party of Nepal- there are sub sections of this pr. Maoist acted as a wing of RAW and utilized antihundu and anti khas society to fulfilled the demand of RAW. so called ethnic groups started to raise the  demand of their own nation that means they are not accepting  themselves are Nepali - see the  voices of  of Gurung, limbu and magar. This is the greatet success of RAW.

Secondly, the strong beliefs and friendship among religious had to be destroyed.

It is the sub-component of first one. Mangolian people like monarchy system but they don’t want to accept the head of Hindu as a king. If someone proposed any mongonlian king, they would accept. So it is indirectly whim against the Hinduism. Now everyone is easily discussing and blaming to each other on religious, cast, class.

so greatest enemy of India, monarchy was attacked by both sides,  one from anti-Hindu groups-which was lead by Maoist  and another from  terai gruoup ( they  were thinking that  khas king)- which was lead by madhise. both were heavenly financed by RAW 

Thirdly, weaken the highly nationalist force (by abasing Army, monarchy and advocates of panchyat system). It is India ’s main target to weak the Nepali nationalists in any cost. Now national defense force is totally humiliated which was supposed to strongly tied with monarchy and Hindu. In parliament sitaram yachuri was welcomed with big claps and same time statue of Nepal founder ( prithi naryan  ) was being destroyed, kicked, spitted. It was the victory of India . Maoist cadre destroyed all the symbols of unity, rural hospitals, suspension bridges, and other many rural infrastructures and become the india ’s main wishers.

Fourthly, to raise the voice of southern nepali People against pahade.

fifthly, to create international environment in such a way that all political elements of world belief on   “any problem of Nepal can be solved only by India ”

Sixthly, automatically it will be the part of India , after paralyze Nepali socio culture and political foundation.  we can observe this from the Jha oath, it was India's another achievement.

AGAIN CONGRATILATION TO ALL NEPALI FOR WALKING ON THE WAY OF SIKKIMISATION AND BHUTANISATION

This is real sad that most of the people in the general population dont know about RAW and fall easy prey to the path led by the corrupt politicians. But in this day and age..it will be very hard for India to capture Nepal and claim her as a state in India. First of all, Nepalese people will not allow that, we just seen how many protested when Hindi was spoken by the VP. It does send a message to India Raw that the Nepalese people do not like India. Like VP said that is only 2% of Nepalese whose language is Hindi. Madhesey people from the Indian origin are a minority unless they cross border from Bihar to orchestrate the riots and we have heard about it already. Nepal issued citizens to so many Indians recently and due to the closeness in appearances and language they fit right away in the terai belt. they have dual citizenship LOL. But many original terai madheseys like the tharu and ets opposes Indian enroachment. Nepal has now people in so many countries and they estimate up to 7 million people living abroad and all of these people can present a clear threat or fund any anti India movement or create a Global awareness to stop India on its track. In other hand an interview in kantipur News with a chinese delegate to Nepal on a visit cleasrly said that China will intervene if india trys to capture Nepal or try to Sikkimize her because China recognizes Nepal as a country not a state. And We still have our Biggest hope of all, our King well and alive and could be reinstated anytime and we all know how the king hates India and how much he favors China as the Next business partner......The fastest growing super power in Asia in the Capialist market. India will slowly loose its grip on all its Neighbors and may be it will be forced to give us back what we rightfully own the GREATER NEPAL, wishful thinking or reality is yet to see.

I have stopped relying on Kantipur these days because of its Pro-Indian and Pro-Indian party news. Madhesi agitation was so much highlighted by Kantipur. They have worked hard for the safeguard of Indian interest. It was protected and nurtured by corrupt politician like Jaya Prakash Gupta et al for which he was summoned by CIAA.
Due to massive infiltration of Indian Propoganda thier owners Kailash Sirohiya (who represents India) and Hemraj Gyawali (who is a little sympathetic towards Nepal) have decided to part ways (read Mysansar).

Kantipur has a very good network of politicians and ministers who leak important national decision to Kantipur & Kantipur plays around that news to mold public sentiments. They don't highlight anything about politicians who are not pro-indian or who are against them.

Read todays Kantipur (July 30, 08, UST), it is blindly supporting PM Koirala and his decision to go to Colomba while other parties are barring him to attend SAARC summit despite his resignation been accepted. In what capacity Mr. Koirala wants to go to Sri Lanka. Will he be representing Nepal.? But Kantipur says since SAARC is nothing much than a photo-op session let us allow him to attend.

Same day another article, Kantipur blames UML saying that it has deviated from its stand. Because it has sided with Maoists to bar ex-PM Koirala to attend SAARC. The article spits venom at UML because it has sensed that UML is going to support Maoists in forming next government. Read the article before it is pulled out............After reading it you will make an honest assessment.


Since, Kantipur has all media. Radio, TV, Newspaper and online. It has become dangerous to national interest because it has been fishing in the muddy waters for so long. Therefore, i always read other newspaper just to get another side of story about Nepal.  Conclusion: Don't rely on Kantipur alone.

It is great to have someone back home to relate the real news. I wish there were many more people like you  to give the real picture of whats happening in Nepal at the layman level.  So that  the so called " idealist" here in sajha can open their sorry eyes and get real.

Have you any news from the terai districts ? You hardly can read anything about terai's pahadiyas in the mainstream media nowadays. I have heard  that lots of Pahadiyas are fleeing from the districts like Parsa, Dhanusha, Rautahat Sirha and Saptari. Yesto awasta ho bhane  kathmandu "stay calm" bhanera  kehi hune wala chaina. Nationalist forces must speak up and speak loud, even if there is threat to the national unity and social harmony. Yestai ho bhane bholi kunai euta le banduk bokera feri Jungle jane din aunchha.

guys and gals, no need to worry. conspiracy theories, and paranoid conversations like the ones here in sajha discussion boads full of "he-said-she-saids" and pusedo facts aside i don't see nepal being sikkimized. we should stop blaming india for our troubles. we have many problems in nepal right now, mainly economic, security, soio-ethnic divide, corruption just to name a few in a nutshell. now, i know many of u will be annoyed at me but i will have to break the news for you folks "india taking over nepal" or "nepalese aka indians" does not break the top ten "threat list" to nepalis and their identity.

blame the leadership of this country that has been plauging us for atleast 120 years. not india not raw or ripe or well done or whatever the indian secret service is called. long ago, don't know when, a poem was written. it wall called "yo halla-halla ko desh ho." so little has changed since then, sad but true.

सबैभन्दा प्रमुख प्रश्न हो, बेलायत र भारतजस्ता मुलुकलाई साम्राज्यवादी भन्ने नेकपा माओवादी आफ्ना सेना नेपाली सेनामा हुल्न किन कसरत गरिरहेका छन्? मार्टिन किन यो खेल खेलिरहेका छन्? यसभित्रको उद्देश्य स्पष्ट छ नेपाली सेना समाप्त गरेर नेपाललाई भारतको सुरक्षा छाताभित्र राख्नु हो। यसबाट दुईटा फाइदा छ– एउटा माओवादी क्रान्तिकारी धार समाप्त हुनेछ, अर्कोतर्फ त्यसैको आडमा राष्ट्रिय सुरक्षा समाप्त हुनेछ। जसलाई माओवादी उपयोग बनेको छ। यहाँसम्मकि सुगौली सन्धिदेखि नेपालबाट भीसा दिँदै आएको ब्रिटिश दूतावासले लोकतन्त्र आएपछि अहिले यहाँको भीसा नयाँदिल्ली सारेर अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय रुपमा नेपाललाई भारतको अंग देखाउने दुस्साहस गरिराखेको छ।
यसको स्पष्ट उद्देश्य राष्ट्रिय रुपमा गलत सन्देश दिएर नेपाललाई भारतको सुरक्षा छाताभित्र राख्ने रणनीतिमा आधारित छ। यता मार्टिनले अनमिनको क्षेत्रलाई असीमित बनाएर नेपालको राष्ट्रिय सुरक्षा समाप्त गर्न केन्द्रित छ। चितवनको शक्तिखोरमा माओवादी क्याम्पभित्र व्यापारी रामहरि श्रेष्ठको हत्या हुँदा मार्टिनको अनमिन कहाँ थियो? के को निमित्त उसले असीमित अधिकार खोजेको छ? यतिबेला मार्टिन आफ्नो जागिर थाम्न अनेक बहाना बनाएका छन्। कुनै क्यारियर नभएको मार्टिनलाई शक्तिखोरको हत्याको घटनाले स्पस्ट पारेको छ– नेपालमा अनमिनको आवश्यकता छैन। यदि अनमिनको भूमिका कहीँ न कहीँ छ भने असफल मार्टिन जस्तोको आवश्यकता छैन भन्ने कुरा नेपाल सरकार र राजनीतिक दलले समयमै बुझ्न आवश्यक छ।
दुई समानान्तर शक्तिकेन्द्र बन्न नदिने बरु भारतीय गुप्तचर संस्था 'रअ'को योजनामा एकल शक्तिकेन्द्र बन्ने प्रचण्ड–बाबुरामको रहर राष्ट्रपतिको पराजयपछि समाप्त भएको छ। राजाबाट राष्ट्राध्यक्ष खोसेर प्रचण्ड–बाबुराम डक्ट्रिनले सीआईएको वरिपरि पुर्‍याएको छ। अब हारजंग हत्यादेखि बाँदरमुडे हुँदै काजोल र रामहरि हत्याकाण्ड अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय अदालतमा पुग्ने सम्भावना नकार्न सकिँदैन। राष्ट्रपतिको चुनावपछि एकाएक नेपाली राजनीतिमा अमेरिका हावी भएको छ।
प्रत्यक्ष रुपमा सीआईएको भूमिका प्रचण्ड निवासमा नदेखिए पनि 'रअ'का नेपाल प्रमुख आलोक जोशीलाई प्रयोग गरेर अमेरिकाले एमाले र माओवादीलाई नदीको दुई किनारा बनाउन सफल भएको छ। एमाले, माओवादीका नेताहरुले महिनौं लगाएर तयार पारेको सहमतिपत्रमा हस्ताक्षर हुन नदिनु नै अमेरिकीहरुको सफलता हो। नेपालको प्रमुख राष्ट्रपति कम्युनिष्ट नेतालाई बन्न नदिने योजनामा प्रचण्ड–बाबुरामलाई फसाउन सफल अमेरिका अहिले माओवादीको सरकार बन्न नदिने कुरामा केन्द्रित छ। कतै प्रचण्डले सरकारमा नजाने घोषणा गर्नुको पछाडि पनि तिनै अमेरिकीहरुलाई खुशी पार्ने योजना त होइन? वृष वृक्ष रोपेपछि फल पनि विष नै फल्छ। चुनवाङ बैठकबाट 'रअ' सँग नजिक बनेर राजतन्त्रविरुद्ध जाने लाइनले राजाबाट शक्तिकेन्द्र खोसेर पेन्टागनलाई बुझाएको छ। अब माओवादी विगतको हारजंग, कास्कीमा जस्तो अवस्था आएमा उम्कने सम्भावना रहने छैन। यसको श्रेय बाबुराम हुन्। उनले भनेका छन्– यो आ207नो नीतिगत विजय हो।
यता 'रअ'को लाइनमा बाबुराम डक्ट्रिनका पुच्छर पुष्पकमल दाहालले 'रअ'का विश्वासपात्र रामराजालाई उम्मेदवार बनाउनु र तमलोपा, सद्भावनाजस्ता पार्टीको ध्रुवीकरणले उसको बचेखुचेको साख पूर्णरुपमा समाप्त भएको छ। यो घटना र राष्ट्रलाई माओवादीकै कारणबाट पुगेको क्षतिलाई समयमै माओवादीको देशभक्त धारले संघर्ष गरेन भने मोहन वैद्यको अवस्था मोहनचन्द्र र वीरगन्जमा पार्टीभित्रको 'रअ' धारको आक्रमणमा परेका 'विप्लव'को अवस्था रविन्द्र श्रेष्ठको भन्दा फरक बन्ने छैन।
समग्रमा चुनवाङ बैठकले लिएको माओवादी धारले नेपाली माओवाद यहाँसम्म आइपुग्दा नयाँ महेन्द्र चौधरीको जन्म गराएर फिजी बनाएको छ। अब माओवादीको चुनवाङ बैठकको 'रअ' सँग घाँटी जोड्ने धारको आवश्यकता नेपालको राष्ट्रिय सुरक्षा समाप्त गरेर भुटान बनाउनेतिर उद्यत छ। त्यसपछि सिक्किम भारतमा विलय गरेपछि लेन्डुपको औचित्य समाप्त भएजस्तै बाबुराम–प्रचण्ड डक्ट्रिनको औचित्य पनि समाप्त हुनेछ। यसबाट पार्टीलाई बचाउन माओवादीले महाधिवेशनमार्फत् देशभक्त नेतृत्व चयन गरेर राष्ट्रियताको निमित्त देशभक्त मोर्चाको नेतृत्व गर्न सक्नु एक मात्र विकल्प हो।

I have found the above analysis a very good, "based on fact" analysis, because I have been following the news and activities related to ANMIN in Nepal, its role, its suspicious meeting with the Terai based separatist groups in India, protest from a sector of Nepali society, even by India ( I don't know why), news relating to UNDP's "food for work" program misused by UN for the terrorist sects of terai, ect. More importantly, I know that Ian Martin is a person who is from UK, worked in Amnesty International before (you know what Amnesty International does in fact right?), his role in East Timor was also controversial.
