8-party activists disrupt RPP-Nepal's programme in Jhapa

Local activities of the eight parties attacked the leaders and cadres of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (Nepal), a pro-King party led by Rabindra Nath Sharma, in eastern Jhapa district.

Hundreds of eight-party cadres led by the Maoists stormed into a gathering of RPP-Nepal in Birtamod Thursday afternoon and beat up at least half a dozen RPP-Nepal supporters. They also tried to manhandle party's chairman Sharma, but he escaped unhurt, according to reports.

Former royalist minister Tek Narayan Rajbansi, Jhapa District Development Committee's former chairman Rajendra Lingden and former DDC vice-chairman Rohit Ranbansi, former mayor of Mechi Nagar Municipality Kalyan Khadka and party workers Bhupendra Lingden and Sagun Lawati were among those injured in the attack. Randradra Lingden and Lawati who were seriously injured in the incident have been brought to Dharan for treatment while others are undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

The eight-party activists took them under control, blackened their faces and forced them to march around the town, reports added.

Following the incident, police escorted Sharma and his wife to the district headquarters Chandragadi. Local eight-party activists chanted slogans against RPP-Nepal and the monarchy when Sharma was being driven to Chandragadi for safety.

In the past, RPP-Nepal leaders and supporters had come under attack whenever they tried to organise public gatherings. nepalnews.com mk Mar 15 07

Oh no I saw it all, last year. Its just a few bad bas*tards belonging to 8 parties that are disrupting everything. People want to live, work and keep up with their daily lives. They don’t care who’s in power because they know they are not going to get anything from anyone. It’s these people (politicians0 and their paid assassins, who are disrupting the peace.

Maoists are full of shit again:
Maoists lash out at govt for promoting NA, APF officials

Kantipur Report

KATHMANDU, March 16 - The CPN-M on Friday lashed out at the government for promoting high ranking officers of the Nepal Army and Armed Police Force.
Refuting allegations of hiding weapons, the Maoists also claimed that a weapons cache is being hidden within the royal palace grounds.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 2nd national convention of the Maoists’ sister organisation, Newa Rastriya Mukti Morcha on Friday, Maoist second-in-command Dr Baburam Bhattarai expressed concern over the promotion of NA and APF officials on the eve of their entry into the interim government.

Stating that removing the king and crown prince was not the major issue, Bhattarai said that the talk of dethroning the king and crown prince was "a game to save monarchy".

"They say the Maoists hid weapons, that they didn't submit their weapons … they are fretting about those Maoist arms which were used to fight for the liberation of the people," Bhattarai said, "But the weapons of the renamed royal army, which was always used against democracy, against regional and ethnic liberation … did any one ever ask how many there are and where they have been hidden?"

Likewise, Maoist chairman Prachanda said that those hatching conspiracies against the Constituent Assembly elections were trying to break up the nation by stirring up the ongoing ethnic and regional movements.

Prachanda further claimed that people were being "brought" from India to incite communal riots in Terai.
