People in the past used to exchange goods for goods, known as barter system. Later, coins were invented which made business simpler. Around a hundred years ago, there were heavy metal coins, which were the only things known as money. Gradually, paper money, also known as notes came into use, which represented large amount of coins and made business fairly simple.

Nowadays, cards made of plastic, known as credit and debit cards are used to pay a large or small amount of money. This obviates the use of notes and coins. Moreover, the electronic money has gradually taken over the modern business and we don't have to deal with the physical money in most of the cases. The evolution of money is still going on steadily, which can pave the way to a different form of money in the future.

Can you predict what kind of money will be in use in the future, say in about fifty or hundered years from now?

Fifty or hundred years from now if the humanity is alive(provided the dangers of nuclear warfare and its accessibility for the evil doers).I think finger print will be the most popular way of buying your groceries.Identity thefts and data hackers will pose serious threats to the credit card companies and banks. So don't be surprised when you visit your nearest super market with your grand-childrens and hear"May I have your finger print?"Instead of "Debit or Credit"?

Izen,
Your prediction of finger prints is something similar to my imagination, but there is some difference. Nowadays, the chip and pin technology has been invented supplanting the the old signature method, which has reduced to some level the theft of credit/debit cards. In the future, the chip of the credit/debit cards will be biologically transplanted inside the layer of the skin in our fingers, so that it will remain with us all the time and there is no danger of theft ( unless the thief cuts our finger off). So, I think when shopping with our grandchildren in the future, we will certainly use our fingers, but not for the fingerprints, but for the small chip embedded inside the skin of our fingers, containing thousands of dollars in them.

HEHEH thinking big. Actually we worked in one research. Finger print for security failed cause there are some people without hands. The businesses have to incorporate them in their design.

Chip implantaion is done on animals and products but not in human. Its against the law. Big bro is not allowed watch its citizens in that way. Its really hard to change this. However chips are used for EZPASS, you know for the trucks.

peace out

Past performance says a lot less about the future than most people realize. Right now, there are small rice grain sized chips that can hold an amazing amount of data. All the identification you find in your wallet plus a great deal of medical history could fit. All kinds of valuable data could be put on that chip.

By the way the government alread "chips" important military people (i.e. pilots, special ops, etc.). It's all about control.
