Despite Nepal's continually poor human rights record, the United States continues to provide military aid to help the government fight a Maoist insurgency. Far from ending the conflict, however, U.S. arms and training are fueling the violence. More than 10,000 people have been killed in Nepal since 1996, and, each day, civilians face the prospect of torture, "disappearance," extrajudicial execution, abduction, arbitrary detention, rape and other abuses at the hands of government security forces and Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) insurgents. In 2002 and 2003, Nepal led the world in ?disappearances,' and there are fears that security forces have since replaced arrest and secret detention with the immediate killing of suspects.

If the information regarding action against Dr. Baburam's and then again taking back those action by Prachanda is evaluated with in the light of information from Prachanda's voice tape, it becomes clear that it is game plan of Indian's in which even our dirty politicians are involed. The recent meeting of 7 parties with Maoist in India and secret meeting of high level Indian authorities with Maoist shoud be analysed seriously by every Nepali. In this situation there is need of suppor of weapen to Nepali Army to combat joint attack of Indian backed Maoist to safeguard our Nation and freedom. Democracy could not flourisn unless terrorism and corruption is controlled. Moreover, in multiparty democracy, political parties are pillars of democracy but when there is no democracy in parties then certainly the foundation of democracy will be weak. One good example is nomination of a good number of central committee members by the party head which is making party head (president or general secretary) had make them dictator. Which we could observe from there role in the party (taking action against the one who voice against mismanagement and corruption). Without making foundation of the pillars of democracy we could not think of adding more layer on it. We are chanting to return power back to people. But whom should the King handover the authority? Are we asking to return power back to those corrupt leaders? If that is so than every Nepali will say no. Therefore we have to create environment for handover of power for that we have to revolt against corrupt leaders in every party and bring clean 2nd generation on power. This will also make environment for dialogue between king and party and open way for handover of authority to people's leaders. Following protest lead by those corrupt leaders will not be a protest for saving democracy but to save those corrupt leaders and will close door of the real democracy.

In the name of human right and democracy those corrupt leaders are trying to protect themself but not the democracy. This is 21th centuary and King understand that very well. He also knows he could not hold power against the people's wish. What we need at the moment is peace and action against corrupt leaders. Without peace there is no possibility of free and fair election. To maintain peace, maoist activities has to be controlled for which weapon is needed. Besides weapon, there is also need of support of people and international community to solve the problem by creating pressure on Maoist and bringing them on negotiation or dialogue table. Only by conducting free and fair election parliament will be established and changing of undemocratic arrangement of parties will create a real check and balance within the party and a real democratic practice could function. This is the time each Nepali regardless of their ideology or belief, need to come above the those ideology and belief and think of Nation and sovereignty.

If these words hurts any corrupts or their relatives and friends than I could not do any thing rather thing they deserve that.

One doubts that the sign "Peace through Superior Firepower" will appear at this rally. Speaking of signs, there are some problems with those shown above. First, "STOP No Weapons to Nepal" might be misconstrued as a call to RESUME weapons shipments to Nepal. Second, "full civilian control" sounds like a sajha poll before taking any military action. Third, how many U.S. taxpayers know who "King G" (ain't he that new rapper?) is? Fourth, Prachand and Gyanendra COMBINED are not even a blip on the screen compared with Pol Pot, not to mention the others named. On a different note, the ostensibly pro-democracy protestors must know that resumption of multiparty democracy means resumption of U.S. arms shipments to Nepal. And I hardly think they are calling for the continued suspension of democracy back home, which has led the U.S. to halt military aid. Catch 22...
