myrepublica.com: Will you return to Nepal once your term as ambassador ends?
Shah: That will depend on my tenure as ambassador. If I succeed there, I will request for an extension as I will be able to serve better with experience. Then I may come and join politics. Anybody can do politics. But not many people can promote Nepal from outside. As far as my judgment goes, I can work better as an external envoy. However, if there is definite pressure or a strong role for me here, I will come back. For full interview :http://myrepublica.com/portal/?action=news_details&news_id=2410

Loyalty is a state of mind and governed by various factors. Greed and power hunger are the major factors to deviate from Loyalty.

I do not see what this thread is trying to highlight.
Where and why is the loyalty of this person being questioned?
As far as I can see, he is a highly qualified person with actual american experience.
Database, could you please clarify on what I'm missing here?

xx-nepal Please read full interview and you will figure out what kind of person he is.How hard he htried to get this position..I do not know this person personally,my input is entirely based on what he has said in his interview.. If you analyze answer above,He is more concerned about himself(obviously everybody does) rather than country and his commitment towards nation.. Please feel free to disagree.

He compares himself to Obama in the interview- that was very interesting to me. Another point is he says he settled the maid issue with her parents and deposited certain amount somewhere that the "victim" does not have access yet- is that fair in settlement?? I did not see potential diplomacy in his interview, I may be stupid though.

"I may be stupid though","correct me if I am wrong".why do you guys try to throw dirt on someone's character when u r not even sure about ur own intellegence or accusation. You should not assasinate characters when u r in such doubt.

As far as I can see, he is highly qualified to be an ambassador, especially for the US. What he has done in the past cannot be analyzed (need not say anything more about this..should we?)..this is regarding the maid issue. He can be a lot more help to Nepal, with his experience over his lifetime (IMF and all that stuff) and also what he has been able to accomplish. I still do not see why he can be questioned about his loyalty. Also, database, what is wrong with someone trying hard to get a job? Isn't that what actually is supposed to happen? I might notbe seeing what you are..so need more explaination from you. Regards.
