Sani, try the agents that advertise in Sajha. If you are a student, STA Travels may be a good option for you. It may be, however, difficult to get anything within $1500 given the rising oil prices.

I can give you one for $2101 via following route:

Dallas<-->New York<--->Abu Dhabi <--->Kathmandu

I think the best rate right now is from Gulf Airlines. Due to the price hike on oil, there is no way you can get tickets on $1500. I paid $1788 for tickets to Nepal for this summer.

The route is like this:

Dallas ----- Frankfurt ---- Bahrain ------ Kathmandu

And its a round trip. The best thing on my route is that I have only 4 hours transit except in Bahrain and thats about 6 hours only. Well, I think its not that bad if you compare to the transit thats almost 12 hours long.

I am going to nepal on 10 Sep and will be back on 10 Nov and I got my ticket for $1618(inclusive of all the taxes and fees). I am flying in Cathy Pacific to Hongkong from LAX and from Hongkong to Ktm in Dragon air. I called all the nepali travel agency in US and that is the best deal i got.
