Hey man!!! there are lots of Nepali people in NJ. Not sure about Newark area but in Edison and Iselin  there are lots of Nepalese. In raritan valley county there is a Nepalese association too. Dr. Tulsi Maharjan, prof in Raritan Valley college is the chairman of this association.

In Rutgers too, I had met 2 Nepalese. One was working there and other one was a student.

I had met a Basnet dude doing his Phd. in Rutgers Newark.  His research is in molecular biology or nanotech or some like that.  I think there are a whole lot in the Harrison area.

NRN, I randomly met the Basnet dude in a friend's party.  If you have been in Rutgers for past three years and haven't come across anyone from Nepal, then either he was bragging about his Phd. candidature in Rutgers  or I met you and perceived you as Basnet.

My family and I live in New Providence, NJ.  It is about 20 minutes west on Route 78 from Newark.  Unfortunately we have not found any Nepalis in this vicinity.  We do go to Iselin and Jersey City once in a while, but have not run into any Nepalis there either.  If you are around this area, please feel free to send me a message by either posting below or by clicking on my name.  Thanks.

My husband and I live in Chatham, NJ. It is about 20 minutes west from Newark. We've been living here since last 3 years but have not seen any Nepalis in the area. We have come across few Nepalis in Iselin though.
I am happy to know that there is a Nepali family in New Providence. We should get in touch.
Glad, if I could help you. Good luck.
