All you need to go to is Social Security office and INS office. thats it. They will issue a new SS Card. Take that card to INS office to change your last name in their imigration data. Hope it helps you

i dont think u need to go to court to change ur last name in ur green card. first go to social security office to change ur last name. once u get ur ssn card with ur new name then go to www.uscis.gov website. i m sure there is some kind of form to change ur last name . along that application make sure u send copy of ur marriage certificate and copy of ur ssn card. i think it will take 1 yr to get new green card. if u wanna listen to me u dont need to change ur last name in ur green card when u apply for citizenship u can directly change ur last name in ur passport.

Thanks uptowngal, But my marriage certificate is from nepal. Do they accept that marriage certificate here? When i tried in DMV to show that marriage certificate they said they don't accept that. So i had to use the extact name that was there in the passport and my passport had name before marriage.

OK,Here is the detail of what you might need to do ( this is based on my experience) 1. Change your last name in your passport ( That you can do from the embassy of Nepal). 2. Take your marriage certificate and your passport to the SS office and have your last name change in the SS card (they will give you new SS card with your SSN) 3. Then you can take those to DMV to have your last name changed in your Driving Liscence. 4. You need to report to INS about your name change so that they will update on your imigration records. These are what we did. But there might be other ways as well. Good-Luck

If you and your husband is living together right now, you can go get married at a court in less than 5 minutes. They will give u a certificate. That may simplify things for you. Or not.
