Indian proposal to divide Nepal
Kathmandu, 24 May: India has put forward the proposal of dividing Nepal into two halves by implementing her so-called Himalaya Marshal Plan in Nepal, writes Sanghu weekly.

India has always tried to break the bond and unity of Nepalese people by attacking Nepal through different angles and this time India has put forward the Himalaya Marshal Plan making a false promise to revive Nepalese poor economic conditions. PM Girija Prasad Koirala and Deputy PM K.P. Oli are planning to visit India to initiate the following plan in the coming future.

The 19 May issue of “The Times of India” has clearly mentioned the plan of Chindia organization. The following paper has also stated that if Nepal is annexed by India alone there is a probability of agitation by the Nepalese people against India, therefore India has proposed China to divide Nepal into two halves.

here it is:

Forget Pakistan. Forget even the US. The country that really fascinates India is China. Long before the international community coined the word 'Chindia' to denote the world's fastest and second fastest growing economies, India had cast an envious eye on China.

It's the country we most love to make hated comparisons with. And in almost every case steel production, power generation, foreign investment, highway construction, tally of Olympic medals China beats us hands down.

While we huff and puff to meet our 8 per cent growth target, China cruises along at a comfortable 9 to 10 per cent. While the Municipal Corporation of Delhi goes on a court-directed demolition drive, Shanghai emerges as the construction capital of the world, with highrises sprouting like giant shiitake mushrooms.

Forget keeping up with China; we're not even in the same race. They're doing the sprint, we're in the three-legged event.

So must we concede defeat? Not if we adopt the strategy of 'If you can't beat 'em, join 'em'. Why not? Not just 'Hindi-Chini bhai-bhai', but a Sino-Indian Federation, with the Dragon as the senior partner as befits its greater economic muscle.

Confederate with our arch adversary of 1962, with the country that has nuclear proliferated to our sworn enemy, Pakistan? The idea is not at all outlandish. In fact it's being held out as an alternative to the Indo-US strategic partnership: a Russia-China-India axis.

Leave an increasingly unstable Russia out of the deal and go the whole hog with China. Instead of being Washington's cat's paw to contain China, New Delhi should consolidate with Beijing.

A Sino-Indian confederacy based on mutual give-and-take (we keep Kashmir, you keep Tibet, and we divide Nepal half-half) would nullify the Pakistani threat, with the missiles at Lop Nor switching their sights from New Delhi to Islamabad.

With their combined economic might, China and India could not just take on but take over the global market. There'd be a price to pay, of course. China would insist that Sitaram Yechury and Prakash Karat be declared class enemies (though capitalist communist Buddhadeb needn't suffer the same fate).

At a pinch, the Chinese might be induced to swallow the bitter pill of Bihar. But they'd certainly draw the line at having to stomach Chinabi cuisine.

Hey Why even go that far? Just do what nepalese are great at doing!! Following the caste system.

JUST DIVIDE THE COUNTRY INTO PIECES OF EVERY CASTE THAT EXISTS. THAT WOULD BE BEST. JUST TWO PIECES WON'T BE ENOUGH. THEN I GUESS NEPALESE WILL REST IN PEACE.

This Jag Suraiya is nobody. This person is just a writer, irresponsible writer earn bread and butter. Perhaps he doesn't know what a sensitive issue he has touched. A responsible author will not talk about dividing a country like a cake or pie.

What the f(uk? This Jug Suraiya is a respected and prominent writer in Times of India and other Indian newspaper for a long time. But this article made me sick. However there is no smoke without a fire.

If China and India indeed plan to divide Nepal, no one can rescue us. It will not even be discussed seriously in Security Council, forget about foreign intervention. Time to wake up. PN Shah rightly said, Nepal dui dhunga bich ko tarul ho. Parties are playing into the hands of India and Maoists are playing into the hands of China.

Cool your tempers mate...he have a point, why can't we be the "meyo" and let them run like Oxens.
That was nice division, so that I guess will apply to all the Himalayan range, including their North-East and Kashmir.

lol. there isn't a better place for gossip. its funny how ppl (chemicalX, to be specific) are talking about "ragatko khola" because of a 'wannabe sarcastic' article. the fact that the Nepalese ppl, esp sajha gazers take everything literally amazes me. no sense of humorous at all.
wake up people, dhoti's are not bringing talwar to cut Nepal into half, atleast not any tyam soon. they'd rather eat the whole peace :-)

smiles

ndia’s Marshall Plan to control Nepal -Remain alert O! Yeh! Nepalese ! India is coming in a disguised way!

Thursday May 25 2006 17:42:00 PM BDT

Sudha, Nepal

AFTER the recent 19-day political movement in Nepal ended according to its roadmap thus bringing Nepal’s politics under its political umbrella, India has now announced an economic roadmap to also bring Nepal’s economy under its economic control that its was already there.

Within days of the political movement ending according to its will, India announced various projects for Nepal, and dubbed it as India’s Himalayan Marshal Plan. According to India watchers, New Delhi devised the Marshal Plan for Nepal feeling ‘sorry’ for the plight of the Nepalese and its brethren in Nepal. The plan is said to be the brainchild of the troika appointed by Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh—special envoy of the Indian government Dr. Karan Singh, Indian Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran and India’s National Security Adviser MK Naravanan. The troika have already approved the plan from the Indian prime minister.

Under the plan India is willing to spend as much as Rs. 12 billion in Nepal. This is a completely different plan from the regular Indian assistance. India is defending its Nepal plan arguing as democratic polity cannot sustain without economic development, India has realized its responsibility towards Nepal to sustain and stabilize democratic system in Nepal. But this has again proved India’s evil intention of undermining or even taking over Nepalese sovereignty by working to make the Nepalese people’s aspiration for democracy in its favour. After it has succeeded in treading the political parties and even the king to walk on its roadmap, India does not want the people’s opinion to go against it. What India wants is to make all - the political parties, king and the people in Nepal - to dance to its tunes.

The façade of India’s Himalayan Marshal Plan looks pretty attractive. Those who have got the hint of the plan said it includes building east-west railway, expansion of postal roads, linking all districts, which do not have road access, in the road network, construction of oil pipeline from Barelli to Kathmandu through Amlekhgunj and providing Nepal with cash and loan to reduce Nepal’s trade deficit with India.

But if one looks at the real intention of the announcement of the plan without consulting Nepal and its publicity of early implementation, it is clear that India is not even treating Nepal as its State, but putting Nepal at even lower rank—its center administered areas. But it is an irony and paradox that nobody here is giving much of a thought to the Indian propaganda and publicity.

If one looks at the past Indian ventures in Nepal such as the Koshi and Gandaki projects, Tribhuvan and Siddhartha Highways, Industrial Estate and airport in Rajbiraj all Indian projects in Nepal have either failed altogether or have become white elephants or are more bothersome than boons. Those who have worked in Indian-made projects or have looked into those projects say that the newly announced projects will not be different from the earlier doomed projects.

Already planners here say several projects, announced by India such as the Bir Hospital expansion project, Dolalghat-Dhankuta Road project and expansion of Janakpur-Jayanagar Railway, could remain on paper and in announcements only.

Nonetheless India has succeeded its political roadmap in Nepal and is now on the second phase of pushing its economic roadmap to bring Nepal completely under its economic and political control. But even if the political parties have surrendered themselves and the King has cowed down before India, India’s domination, the so called will not be acceptable to the Nepalese, who are true nationalist. Nepalese people will come out and oppose India’s new hegemonic face under the guise of a new democratic nation, which it is not in effect.

.You guys are reading too much into the articles. It's just a normal average writing that you can find in any Indian magazine, newspaper or websites. There's nothing to be alarmed of.

Like I said, you guys have started to read too much into the news and articles. Calm down a little, nothing is going to happen to Nepal.

relax people Indians are not so stupid to take nepal. They already have nepal .why would they want to just take all the hassle to just to put tag. They are not as stupid as SPA where tagging everything but no change.U r with me or not I don't care .Though indians have some negative points they do have positive points .So, don't be judgemental. These indians are made fun in usa but equally respected in software industry may it be in microsoft, google or oracle.Need to learn good from others not bad.

Regarding india's proposal .this is my opinion. india doesn't need to divide nepal .we are already divided. There is one more issue now in stage religion .Now we are divided on that too forget politics.hindu's are divided with hindu's now in Nepal.

So if u want to make everyone happy then we need to divide nepal.India doesn't need to help on that we can do it ourself. At least leaders will be happy to do so for u guys.
