Hi, I am in OPT and I have an EAD card. The USCIS # in EAD card is different from the A# that is given to me in the form I-797C (Notice of Action for TPS, I have applied for TPS). Is it supposed to be different, are we issued new A# while applying for TPS or is it just a mistake? Any information will be appreciated. Sincerely,

They gave me new A# that is different than my EAD. But I have new A# on both TPS and EAD notice.

I have realized that same thing, during my EAD/ OPT H1-B, h1-b extension, i had the same A# / uscis number but tps has different. I believe it is just for their tracking purpose.

Yes, it can be different based on your application type. They may have reserved a range of number starting with certain digits for TPS which will likely be different than the one you received for OPT.
