Hurray I lived in Canada and once upon a time i lived in France for a short while. Right now, I am in the US and given the choice, I would happily go to Western Europe :). The key is to find a job that would suffice to live there comfortably. ANd when i say comfortably, I mean summer vacations in the South, winter in the alps and spring and fall in Paris :). YES, I am daydreaming.

What is mine here? Far away from my country I am in an alien land For years, I have been here giving my sweat, blood and tear I wake up early in the day and work hard throughout pay tax to the treasury as much as the natives do I oblige to the rule of law never made any irresponsible flaw Not associated on any bogus my own business is where I focus It was this nation which pulled my hand everything I do goes for this land my money goes for their social welfare their community and for their own care still when I hear 'Asian' in public And find a stare of hatred all the anguish because I'm not white I think here- nothing is mine Although I poured everything here this place could never be mine No matter I have the status I still think I'm an unwelcome guest we have some nexus may be but this place remains foreign to me.

May 8th was celebrated as the 60th anniversary of VE day, that is, Victory of Allied powers in Europe in World War II, in 1945. That day, in most of the TV channels, they were showing films of the war. In one channel, there was a documentary of the victory in Europe, and that was in color! They showed the final days of the war, war ravaged Britain and Germany. After Hitler committed suicide, the German radio announced his death, and that too was heard in the documentary! After the victory, the British people gathered in Trafalgar Square in London, and Winston Churchill was shown riding through the streets, waving triumphantly to the people. It was so interesting to see London of that time, quaint sign boards, old double deckered buses, and crowded streets. People were celebrating and burning the effigies of Hitler. Churchill was even shown later, waving from the balcony of the Buckingham Palace, with the King of that time. There in Berlin, people were slowly recovering from the bloody war, most of the houses were in rubbles and the remaining were badly destroyed. After the second world war, the center of world power shifted largely from Western Europe to the USA and the USSR. Cold war and possiblity of nuclear war followed. Anyway, that was a very good documentary of the war in Europe, I enjoyed it.
