I am 36VNbatch. I really enjoing watching discussion of past VN student site and got chance to update current situation. By the way who is this Pradip sir, is he Math teacher (later started teaching Phycs in TC or the another one (I do not remember about the subject because he taught us Panchayat, later Nepal parichaya)

Pradeep sir taught us Panchayat. He used tell lots of stories. He was great teacher! I wonder how he is doing healthwise!

Does any here remember Jaya Prakash Nepal sir (with mustach and beard)......who used to teach "Karyala Sanchalan". Later on he went to Japan. I wonder where he is now. Also K. B. Maharjan sir (English teacher) was great. He is a principle of one of the popular +2 colleges in Kathmandu. I can't forget Pradeep sir's words like "toori laure, paani laure" and Gambhir man sir's "hey hanuman".....they were funny.

I don't know Jaya Prakash Sir and K.B. Maharjan Sir but I know Pradeep Sir and his funny stories. I still can remember some of those. Does anyone know Gajendra Man sir? I liked his style of teaching. What abt Kohinoor Miss? She liked me very much, (i guess) at that time, and Samita Miss...... My heart goes out to hear about her sad demise, may her soul rest in heaven.

I am kinda nostalgic thinking about those days. Those were the worriless fun moments.

Pahad, pawancha and chain smoker! I might know you guys! I was in section A and did SLC in 2044. I can not believe it has been almost two decades!

We had some great teachers. GambhirMan sir was quite a motivational speaker. He used to come to our classes any time we had any of our teachers absent and talk about how education would improve the quality of our lives. I must confess I followed his " To learn English, think in English and Dream in English" routine.

Pradip sir was quite a story teller. He was supposed to teach us history, but we never had any idea what chapter he was on, or what subject for that matter. He was so funny we always laughed our asses off. His class was never like a class. It was like an hour of stand up comedy, refreshing and entertaining, yet educational.

Purna Bdr sir would be called " a bad teacher" by today's standard. He was a man of prominent physical stature with a neatly trimmed and combed hair but a very very bad temper . Any one who was unfortunate enough to be blessed with one of his merciless "jhapad' (You must have one, if you were not a teacher's pet) would know what I am taking about. He was abusive-yes! He was uninteresting-yes. But he was a darn good teacher. He taught us coordinates (10th grade) in such a way that I understood what exactly it meant in every day life. I wish I had him for my algebra to know what those equation meant in real life.

Nirmal Giri sir- he was one of the best and I will write about him next.

Yes, I remember the VN get together day of Gurupurnima. I was informed and was invited for that program but unfortunatily was not able to particiapate as i was busy in hospital taking care my father. But later I met Gambhir Man Sir in another ocassion.
Anyway your effort in bringing together ex VN student together by this thread is very appreciated.

I most of the things discussed here also apply in my case. It is actually Purna Bdr Sir who made me perfect in Math. Of course one has to write Theorm 20/30 times. Before that it was Pradeep Bhattarai who taught us Math. He is one of the worse teachers in my life and most of us were very weak in Math in his time. Imagine, we proved theorm writing "Why " in the column where we supposed to give reason for the prove. I met this guy later in TC as Physics teacher.
Other were Naresh Sir who used enter class with long stick (not for beating but just to point out his figure that he writes in board), spend much time in talking and writing very neat and clean figure and teach just few minutes at the end of period.
Anyway days in VN were memmorable.

I think, I am in your class and I know you too. I know all of those teachers - Jay Nepal, K.B Sir, Ghambhir Man, Purna Sirr, Kohinoor, Rebratna. Almost all of them. Can you tell which was your batch- which year and class section. I was in section B, later become C. I was in 2036/37
