Nepal would have better chance against Afganisthan rather than experienced UAE.

The table clearly shows Nepal have the better chance after winning all its match but UAe is a tough team.
Nepal have scored less runs in total than UAE .... which is typical for Nepali team. The aggregate of Nepali teams run is the second from the bottom. This shows the flaw in our batting.

On the other hand, Nepal have conceaded the least run in the tournament. Its also typical with Nepali team who have bowlers like Shakti and Binod Das.

Non of our opening batsman have scored even a half century yet.  Kaniska is still in holiday mood and Paresh hardly fires in pressure. Sending Mahesh Chettri down at number 8/9 is a big mistake. He should be opening instead of Paresh.

Nepals back bone to win the match is the strong and in form middle order. Parash have a big responsibility to score. Sarad and Gyanendra must also be ready for anything as the opening batsman are still not firing. The lower order boosted by Shakti, Alam, Basanta and Mahesh is still untested but they all have brilliant batting record in the book. They also be prepared for the big day. UAE have taken all possible 40 wickets in the last four match. So, Binod Das batting at number 10 is a big bonus for the team.

Nepals bowling must have some plan to send Ashrad Ali back to pavilion as soon as possible. Use the Aussie style of gaming or South African style of bullying, but take Ashrad Ali out of the pitch as soon as possible. Binod Das have brilliant track record against UAE but he hasnt fired up yet. Parash Khadkas medium pace isnt working much either, so rather than playing another specialist spinner on number 11, get a paceman who can trouble the Arabians.

See how Malaysian Press wrote about Nepali hero

Hungry Paras aims for UAE scalp and ACC Trophy (July 31 2008)

PARAS Khadka has seen it all – the Under-19 World Cup and the recent World Cricket League in Jersey but he yearns for the ACC Elite Trophy more than anything at this moment of time.

“It is high time we cross the line and take this trophy back home which has eluded Nepal in every edition,” said the 20-year-old Paras, who played an instrumental role in leading Nepal to last year’s ACC Under-19 title and also captained the side to the ICC U/19 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur in March.

The Nepalese face four-time champions United Arab Emirates in the semifinals of the ACC Trophy at the Selangor Turf Club on Friday (today) while Hong Kong and Afghanistan square-off at the famed Kinrara Oval. At the Bayuemas Oval in Klang, Malaysia takes on Singapore in the play-off for 5-6th placing.

The Malaysians finished third with four points in Group A behind Afghanistan (six points) and UAE (six).

Nepal qualified for the 2002 final but lost to United Arab Emirates in the final, crashed out during the quarterfinals stage in 2004 and was once again beaten by UAE in the semifinals of the 2006 edition held in Kuala Lumpur.

“It is always frustrating when you play your best in the preliminary round with aim of qualifying for the semifinals and not go beyond that. For me, that has been my frustration in the ACC Trophy.

“The weather has been good the last few days, at time a little hot, but that is good for cricket. We are prepared to face any team in the semifinals and I believe UAE have a good batting and bowling lineup. They are always a dangerous side. They came back strongly after that opening defeat to Saudi Arabia to qualify for the semifinals,” added Paras, who smashed 71 runs against Singapore.

The UAE will be counting on Arshad Ali, who has won more than 10 Man of the Match awards in ACC tournaments in the last five years.

Coached by Vesbert Drakes, the former West Indian right-arm fast bowler, UAE will be looking to their fifth consecutive final and fans can expect an explosive semifinal encounter between these two Asia’s non-test playing giants.

Yes.. I am excited!!!! Kanishka has been living in California.. I was little surprised when I found out he was also playing..May be due to lack of practise in US , he  is not getting runs ...I would love to see Alam at the top of the order .. he is an attacking batsmen and can provide the early momentum for Nepal plus he is left handed giving right-left combination...Fortunately,Paras Khadka  and the rest have been stabilizing the batting order in the middle..For me , Parash has beeen such an inspiration.. He has made sure he stays till the end.. he is a finisher!!!.. Nepal is on a roll ..I am confident the boys will give a good fight and hopefully, a win... Boys are hungry and so are we!!! .I wish I could see the match live

Nepal had won the toss and they had elected to bat first with UAE. Lets all wish that Nepal will post some good total on the board and win this match.
