I never knew we had a lot of pro-maoist friends in SAJHA just like in the Whole Country, including KTM valley. Please dont abuse others based on  their political belief. We should follow democratic norms in this thread as well, as we all have our rights to express our views and also question (discuss) others' view if different in polite ways. To add up, even the top leaders of parties, talk  with one another with  respect (when they meet) and friendly manner, but why are we fighting in support of our leaders and parties? I dont mind whoever wins but i want Nepal adn Nepalese to prosper in days to come. I am (my personal viewpoint) not satisfied with what Maoist did in the past (the parties also did not do well, but i guess it was not as bad as Maoist did), but there are chances that Maoist can do better in days to come ( again which i doubt based on their past record, I might be wrong).

Please Please Please! stop abusing others' and try to express your views if we had a free and fair election (if possible only on Yes / No, if no which party was involved on it)

I agree Nepali Man6e. Nobody here is choosing Maoist as their best party or as our first choice to run the government. We are choosing them because they are all we have right now.

Samsara - you not helping out here. Can we get back to the topic of discussion. So we were saying that the country and its people would be more comfortable if the NC party won, correct.

From the media report till now, I say YES ! I believe on highly respected international observers like Jimmy Carter, who have observed more than 70 election in conflicting regions like Nepal in the past. Well, I go with majority of what international observers and media says. They have been in vigilant since the election began.

Although the election seems to be fair and clean now, some people here have raised that the maoist intimidation and fear before the election are the resons for win. Lets see how the people greet after Maoist win (if they win). If its because of fear, then certainly it will come up gradually. Intenational communities will certainly put their words on this. Then we can say the election is not fair.

If you are talking abt the number of ppl who come to victory rally after the election, believe me it would be far more than the number of votes teh candidate has received. because general public(except for cadre) would go there to prove taht they had voted for the party that won, even if it were not true. and International communities have nothing to do. but lets see what happens, but  make sure you go with "people's verdict" ,thats what election means.

whatever happens, happens for good. May be we can get huge rescue packages from Maoist Government, think positive dudes.

oh c'mon now guys. what good will this eternal stretching of the discussion is gonna do to Nepal, if you are really so serious about your country? NADA. the election is over and for a record it's a success--fair and non-violent for the most part and that's how it is going to be written down in history. let's get over the fairness part. the election is over but the peace process is not. these coming few weeks are in fact more crucial than the pre-election or election phase. let' s be serious about it and let's get together all of us regardless of the differences in our political ideologies. the country was in fire-still is...they have gathered to put it off once and for all. let's support a good cause now shall we?

as i said earlier, this election couldn't have been fairer than this. few violences, sporadic fistfights and booth captures are inevitable in all form of elections in our part of the world (just check the history). what's more there were number of national and international vigilant groups in place to monitor the fairness of the process. people like former US president Jimmy Carter were passionately involved. their prestige were at great stake. and they had to give the right report to the national and international communities. some of these folks had monitored the election in Nicaragua while the war was waging there. they haven' t reported that the election has been rigged. so who are you guys from the comfort of your cozy office chairs and bedrooms to doubt on its fairness???

the winner or the combination of winners from this election is not gonna govern our nation in the future if they falter in their task which is to draft and finalize the constitution of new nepal. it's you (us) who have to make sure they are in track, that they don't derail from performing their duties. we are responsible citizens of the country and we are the most powerful force of Nepal. let's not forget that. let's not be too hard on maoists (or whoever the winner is gonna be-majority wise or largest partywise) long as they fit inside the periphery of multiparty democratic framework. they will impose autocratic communism only if we let them do so.

understand the gravity of the situation. there's no point in fighting. everyone can talk loudly. everyone can hit the keyboard in rage. what you talk is important and not the decibel that your vocal chord or keyboard can generate.

let's look at positives. there are many things that this CA will do good for our country. first it will put an end to the armed conflict. secondly it will put an end to autocracy and establish nepal as a republic and that will help to install lasting and strong democracy. most importantly, the marginalized groups will be given the right to participate in the decision making process for the first time. it will provide them an opportunity to play a greater role in the society. that's a lot considering where we are right now.

thought i would not dig into politics in sajha tara this is crucial time for our country. let it be known.
