Welcome to Nepali NFL 2006, the Playoff match between the players who competed in the regular season (under Are you ready for some football thread) and managed to be one of the TOP 14 Teams!!!

This is the Playoff and 14 top teams qualify (names and Tie sheet to come soon)

Rules
1. Each player should predict winner and loser and also the final points.
2. The player who correctly predicts the winner wins the matchup. If both players predict same winner, final points will be compared.
3. Differential* will be used to find out whose prediction was closest, point wise. Player with lowest differential wins the match-up.
4. If both winner/loser and points are tied then the player who had predicted first will win the matchup.


*Differntial = |(predicted winning points-actual winning points)| + |(predicted losing points - actual losing points)| .

That's it!!! So let the predicting game start.

Denver vs NE - > Broncos 24-13
Indy vs Pits -> Colts 28-24
Chicago vs Carolina - > Bears 17-14
Seattle vs Washington -> Seahawks 24-17

This table was used to calculate the points and Differentials. The data were entered from the forum postings. I have done simple proof reading, if you see any error/discrepancy let me know.

I used multiple IF and Else logic in Excel programming to calculate the Differential and have verified it holds true for key match-ups. That's how it was easier for me to post the result as soon as the last game ended. The closer your prediciton was the better (lower) differential you got.


Congratulations to Hukka, that was an awesome win. Kanchi could have won the week had she been matched up with somebody else other than Hukka. Slash had second best prediction.

It took about an hour and half.
The only time taken was entering the data to excel sheet. I created a logical (IF)
statement in Excel to automatically pick these data and calculate the Differential
based on whether prediction is made right or wrong. Hence, once the programming was
done it was pretty easy to copy it for everybody else. Good thing is I only have to
enter the data for next week and my program will auto calculate it in a snap.

This way everybody gets to see their score (both points and differential) and find out
how close they were to actual score. Lower the differential closer you were.

Hukka had the best prediction.Sangam and Redstone had tightest competition as it came down to Differentials to decide the game. Differential decided the winner between Sujanks and Unkown as well.
It's funny that only the top 13 players were qualified for next round. The newbies either had bad luck or stronger opponent. Better luck next time.

I thought this thread was something like NepaliNBA so didnt even bother to look at it. Anyways.. no problemo.. my Patriots is still there and playing strong. Go Pats.
