Former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala has been re-elected to the post of party president.

Koirala bagged 1215 votes against his rival Narahari Acharya's 165 votes.

Some two dozen votes were declared Invalid.

1. To have a grip like that of GIRIJA babu and Koirala in a party like Nepali Congress is actually a political quality that very few posses in todays political world. Koirala dynasty is comparable to Hosni Mubarak or Ghandi's or Castro.

2. To win the power struggle and to alieniate iron man like Ganesh Man and KP Bhattarai from the party is another feat for Girija.

3. Nepali Congress is a party of sheeps so Shirish sees better life and oppurtunities being a follwer of Girija. Therfore, he changes his faith of being a stunch follower of MK Nepal. He did call him to congratulate and promised him to bring some haluwa with postachio from New Delhi as his token of respect and Girija babu did acknowledge that as usual. At least, that intact memory of Girija babu does not suffer from any senility and dementia.

4. Girija also told Shirish that King G threatened other anti monarqui forces of dire consequences if the support for Girija was withdrawn. That kinda boosted the victory for Girija Babu.
