What will be the proof of this?

Even number= prime1 + prime2

If it cannot be complete, why not?

Okay, friends, here's a new one. I will try to be as clear and as explicit as possible to keep the question from being ambiguous.

The setup.
You are in the basement of a house looking at three light switches all in the off position. Each switch is connected to one 100 watt, 60 watt, and 40 watt light bulb, respectively, in the attic. You cannot see the attic or any of the lights from here.

The question:
How can you figure out which switch goes to which light, if you may only go up the stairs to the attic one time?

U can use an ammeter and get the amperage, then multiply it by 120V. ;)

"Each switch is connected to one 100 watt, 60 watt, 40 watt.."

Did you mean each switch is connected to 3 bulbs OR one switch to 100, another to 60 etc.
See your question is ambiguous already.

Yes, Kiddo, "each switch is connected to one 100 watt, 60 watt, 40 watt." Also, "you are in the basement of a house looking at three light switches all in the off position.

And, finally, the question is, "How can you figure out which switch goes to which light, if you may only go up the stairs to the attic one time?"

If each switch is connected to one 100, one 60 and 40 watt then EACH switch goes to all 3 lights.
I think u wanna say, one switch is connected to 100 watt, other one to 60 and the last one to 40 watt, not in the order of placement.
I hope I catch ur drift.

Did you see the word respectively on my question?

Are those light bulbs placed in any perticuler formation with series like 100,60,40 and 40,60,100 or random like 40,100,60 and 60,100,40.

If you realized RESPECTIVELY was so important, then why did you miss it in your last post >>
Yes, Kiddo, "each switch is connected to one 100 watt, 60 watt, 40 watt." Also, "you are in the basement of a house looking at three light switches all in the off position.

I was just trying to understand the question right. Your use of "Each" is not a proper use grammatically. You cannot use the word "each" there and claim it is not an ambiguous question. If you still think it is, then read the question just above this post.

Ur questions are good though, keep 'em coming. Just trying to annoy u and correct ur grammer.

No, Swatantra, the light bulbs are randomized as are the switches. And, more importantly, the switches are in the basement in different places on the wall and the light bulbs are in the attic.

slackdemic,

turn one switch on then go to see which bulb glows, then short circuit one of the remaining two bulbs, so when he goes back to basement turns on one of the remaining two switches, if the electricity goes off then its the short circuited bulb, if not then the other one ........ just my wild guess hehehe

Thank you fortrying to annoy me, Kiddo. ;) :P Oh, well, I think placing respectively, which was already in my question at the first hand, gives sense. Or, maybe, I am not just as good as you are when it comes to writing grammatically correct sentences. Oh, well..

By the way, you told me you would use Ammeter to find the current and upong finding the it you would multiply it to 120 V. I think that will give energy/time. I swear I didn't ask that. ;) :P

And, no hard feelings..Just playing! :)

hehehehe..That is funny, Swatantra!

Ritthe, 100, 60, and 40 are the power of the bulbs. You figure if they have anything to do or not. ;)

Turn any one switch on. Go in the attic and find it out. Take any one bulb out from remaining two. Go to the basement, turn off light in the basement. Turn on remaining two swithces while looking closely, the switch which deos not spark has light bulb taken out. It may be not an answer, but it will work too.

Swatantra, your solution is wrong because you can go only once to the attic! Multiple attempts prohibited, kya! :D

turn 2 switches on for 5-6 mins, then turn one of the two again off, then run to attic, the glowing bulb is the one you left one ...... feel the remaining two bulb, warm one is the one u turned on for a while and turned off ....... and the cold one is the switch we didnot touch
