And you're the worst person who ever attempted to answer a puzzle. Sorry Aashish!

Rope puzzle:

Rope A and Rope B are of different lengths and thickness, but each burns in exactly 1 hour.

How would you measure 45 mins by burning the ropes?

You can't cut the ropes. The ropes aren't uniform either (i.e. if you burn a rope upto its midpoint, it doesn't necessarily mean that 1/2 hour's elapsed).

Read the following sentence quickly once and only once and count the number of Fs in it.

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE-
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIF-
IC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS.

Now re-read it slowly and count more carefully. Any difference?

Are the information for Rope Puzzle sufficient?
Or we have to assume something?

I have already tried the letter F-case. Intresting!

Buddy, we here post puzzles and try to answer them and explain our logic behind the solutions. It is up to you to try and understand the logic. Hey, you know what? I can't climb Mount Everest, so it's the worst mountain ever and full of s h i t !

If thats the case my logic is the first page of vol 1 is indeed page 1 and the last page of vol 10 is indeed page 100. so why am I wrong??? thats my logic...I know it doesnt match with urs but still its a logic right.... how can u confidently say its wrong....unless u made a mistake posting the question.
Ok now tell me one more thing...which grade are u in 5 or 6????

the question posted by republican is not worng.
Aashish! why you are cofused with such a simple logic. In the book-shelf, the first page of the book faces to the right and last page to left. This is the main logic behind the question. Start with this logic.

SlowPoison, is that how someone suppose to arrange Encyclopedia on book shelf? I did not know of that and never have came across such an arrangement.

About the Rope's solution, one possible way is probably double fold the thick and short rope, burn it ( which burns for 30 min) and right after it burns out brun the four folded long and thin rope ( which burns for 15 min), just guessing here.

Three ants who never look back were going along a straight way .on the way front ant asserts that he is the greatest among them since other two are following him. Middle ant becomes angry on it and asserts he is the greatest since he has one body guard in front and another in the back. he is either way safe.the first feels the logic and aceepts what the second said. The last one sighs, and calmly says, hey fools why are u fighting to prove who is the greatest among you . Even if i apply yr own logic i am the greatest and there are other many more reasons to prove it . The other two ants ask how. The last ant says i have two ants(body guards) in the front and two in the back so i am the greatest simply using yr logic. Front and middle ants accept what last one said and continue the journey.

Now you tell how the Last ant managed to be the greatest!!!
If you know the answer then you are qualified to be a politician!
Try i t out!!

Paradox question tempted me to come to Sajha again!

The two other ants that are in the front don't know if there are more ants behind the third ant since they never look back. However, they do know that there are two ants (i.e. themselves) in front of the third aunt.

How's that, Paradox? Even if you give the credit of solving it, I am not going to make a politician, whatsoever. :) :D

"credit of solving it"
to be read as: credit FOR solving it.

Hahahaha...what a joke I am myself. So alll my life, I have been shelving books wrong way ( right to left and upside down, so all the front covers and free space on the shelve are on my left). I am a left handed and have OCD. Haha still laughing at myself.
How do right handed people shelve books? Starting from right end or left end of the shelve?

Okay, now I think I got Republican's rope riddle. This is how I'd do:

Say Rope A and B.

1. Double the rope A by joining the two opposite ends.

2. Quadruple the rope B by joining the two opposite ends, and repeating it.

3. Burn the rope A. After it completely burns up, 30 minutes has elapsed.

4. As soon as A finishes burning, burn the rope B. After it finishes burning, which takes 15 minutes, the total time will be 30 + 15 = 45 minutes.

:)
