Guys listen to our new national anthem ,, I found it ,,,,, well writen,, but music sucks. With do respect to our great musician AMAR GURUNG, flow of the music in this song is very one dimensional. Music of the old anthem was well composed. There was flow to it, pitch went from one level another,,while siging old song, brought feeling,,, not because of the words,, but the tune.

I got it, heard it...and i have the same feeling as yours man. I feel like listening to a Desh Bhakti geet rather than a National Anthem. Some momentum, some kinda rush is missing there. The tune and melody was just great in our last national anthem man regardless of the words, which i though was a best national anthem compared to other countries. I definately have to get used to the latest one.

Music of national anthem was also composed by Nhyu Bajracharya, Nepal Army Band and Police Band. But, handful of minister selected the one composed by Ambar Gurung. No body except cabinet minister could listen the others composition. No doubt Ambar Gurung is a legendry musician but what I heard is he initially was reluctant to give music on national anthem. Later on he was perhaps convinced by authorities that his music will be selected. They should have made all those proposed compositions out and selected by more democratic way. Lyrics of the national anthem is also not so attractive.

When i first heard this National Anthem", i knew it sounded like something i heard before in one of those Mahendra Mala book. For me me sounded like the poem "Tarai Hay-ra Kati Ramro" poem. What do u guys think??

are you serious????? this sounds like a LOK GEET....not a National Anthem...by the way what is wrong with the old one????? and now as adults we have to re learn our Anthem because some commie terrorist forced us too.............???I will always sing our old anthem thats what my kids are going to learn.........

hey fellows.....what i see is...there is melody of old national anthem on our mind which is still playin...becoz we r listening n remembering since our childhood.....will be hard to adjust new one...what i tell u people out there....the new generation students studyin in early class 1, 2 whateve..will start to like this new song as they hab to study in their coursebook howeve"""""...and all will start to like no matter wid the age.

Well we can debate on and on, but what i gotta say is that "i am not satisfied with the new national anthem". Why?? it sounds like a laid back song without any potential to energize the one who sings it. And "SANTIBHUMI" ??? What is that ? Even a 5 yrs old kid won't get buy into that. Not realistic. The most thing i was disappointed was about not conveying this concept/message: "The country has stepped into a new era now, the message of lets develop our nation with new spirit" is missing. Man, we nepalese can do better than that.

The national anthem needs to be scrapped. First step is compose the music then compose the lyrics.

Myyyaannnn..Poon-hill you are so right...its not motivating ..the old tune brings so much energy and the urge to do something for the nation..but this one sounds like a lok geet like someone mentioned and big deal if it covers ppl from mechi to makakali..where is the message to move ahead !!!to march forward.. to develop ....it doesn't heat up our blood ..its flat !!!! ... I can't imagine the orchestra playing it..the old one sounded really nice and classy ..this one sucks!!!!
