Since missionaries themselves are trying to convert people of other religion into chiristianity, it can be inferred that they view other religions as being inferior to christianity...any sane person can figure that trying to convert other people is beliving that one's own religion is superior to others, i.e. a blatant disrespect and intolerance of other religions...therefore these missionaries who (at times with the help of financial,educational or other material greed) convert people of other religions into chirstianity ust be outlawed....

Hindus are just losing the religious war I think. People say that Hindus have survived the Muslim onslaught and all that, but Jews say the same thing, and the Jewish population is shrinking on a daily basis. So the argument that Hindus are survivors does not make sense, if we take into account the fact that Hindus don't allow people to convert to Hinduism. In other words, people can leave Hinduism in droves(and many have done it, no matter how much of a ban is put on conversion), but people can't enter it. The formula, in itself, I think, means the end of Hinduism in a few centuries, no doubt. So what can we do? I think Hindus need a "safe haven" of sorts, much like the Jewish israel. By founding Israel, the Jews have essentially guaranteed their survival. They are scared of Iranian nukes, but the crux of the matter is this: if they nuke Israel, then Palestine will be affected as well, since Israel is a pretty tiny country. So this is just scare tactic used by some people. Muslims have no choice but to learn to live with the Jewish people.

So I personally think that in order for Hindus to keep on propagating, we need a Hindu country that is at least 90% Hindu. Otherwise, we're dead meat in a couple of centuries.

poverty is the main problem for conversion of religion....government should do something to eradicate poverty so they will have education......

I think this "war on missionaries" is just like "war on drugs". They're just going to find loopholes, or they're just break laws to convert people.

Look, here's the deal, these missionaries won't really be able to convert bahuns/chettris and other "hardened" castes out there much. So yeah, they will definitely convert the mostly Buddhist folks, and maybe lower castes as well. I think that Nepal will remain a Hindu majority no matter how much they try their "magic", in the short term. Long term, it's another story. Hinduism will die out in a couple of centuries, at least in Nepal. I think our tolerance is our demise.

Pilot, If you ask any of the people who attended missionary school, how they felt about the christian missionaries you will find out nobody has anything negative to say. I went to one myself. They had christian mass but attendance was not compulsory. There was a choice, we had options. Free will is respected, and nobody is ever forced to turn inot a christian. Throughout south-east asia and much more of the world, Missionary school has contributed the most to education and self reliance. For all that matters western education in Nepal was pioneered by a Missionary too. they are the first to help the sick and untouchables, they are the first to lend a helping hand in times of disaster, they are a beacon of humanatarian works throughout the world from the slums of Calcutta to the hospitals of New York city. If you close your eyes and let other people define then it doesn't become your. You have to open your eyes, broaden your mentality and think universally. If people do convert to christianity then let them be, if you decide to change the color of your room tomorow, would you like people to dictate you ? If they decide to change their religion then most probably because they didn't find what they are looking for, and found the same in christianity.
