I think King made the best decision. I think that we in Nepal don't understand what true Democracy mean. Politicians in Nepal were busy making money for their own benefit for the past 15/16 years. All they know is to chew PAN and give jargons. They could have done lot during Birendra's Time did they nope? You see then with 2/3 luxury cars and foreign bank a/c and so forth. There was not Moisist issue before why now cause they know that the political party member not educated at all and they take advantage. To me personally Democracy in Nepal was Like " Badar KO haat MAA Narial". Don?t know what to do.

I hope when all said and done King will prove that the steps he took was best for the country, its people, its coming generations and tourist. Nepal was the only peaceful country in the world before and we need to accomplish that again.
I wish best for the country Nepal.

Jai NEPAL

Ok I agree politician were corrupt and wrong...

But why do you think Gyanendra is right and working for us....

This is the same king who raise royal budget 10 times once he got power?
This is the father of same crown prince who create chaos in ktm time to time... just imagine this person having autocratic power....?

For me leaders or king they are both same.... leaders did corruption illegally, king is doing corruption legally because he has ultmate power to do so..... all of them are here to suck our blood no one cares about us....

Well dont think maoist are good enough they are too fighting for own benefit not for poor ... they are more worst because they are looting from poorest population of nepal....

I dont why we nepalese are so helpless why do we have to always creep rather than fighting...

God gave us a population of 20 million but not even a single leader with vision to lead....

MANDATORY MEMO For NEPALESE
Anyone who didn't see this (picture perfect absolute undertaking) was crossed as a fool. This is political game is sharper than the razor blade. Check your rearview mirror - those rainy days are gone - somebody had to do it; sooner or later. Cheers - one for the King, nepres. People did not respect the democracy then and YOU along with more than half of them were illitrates to even comprehend democracy. This is the repercussion of those nepalese who fell for somebody elses ideologies back in the days for example Mofo GP, Krishne, and their stupid possies.

Now y'all fooled again, Guess who's back! Back in town is a same ol' clown, call your home or check out reuters.com - it's a good day in nepal today, life is normal and cheerful also people are happy and hopeful that peace would conquer again - just like our younger days - where we picked up flowers not guns and bullets cells. Picture a goodlife in nepal fools, which means people would get opportunities, education, and basic services.

Next party's over kids - ready or not - to all y'all haters, let the people decide, Democracy is a act of of terrorism too - it'll give crazy leaders a chance to exercise their mind and a ill-intensioned media as a tool to manupulate their opinions.' therefore, media should be controlled by the government to stablize the daily circumstances -don't believe me- just ask uncle Sam. Now the king has become the Boss of all Bosses, believe me - just like in the jungle - only the king would replace the king, thatis to replace monarchy there should be a strong leader with patroitic mentality and utmost public services in his resume. Come on people don't tell me GP and all these oldschool drop outs to run our country.

Concusion - There have been few human right abuses and civil right seizures occured during this act which is I beleive is temporary - it was about time for somebody to come forward and take a firm charge - how long will you wanna see people die - bomb going off - you know you have the answer- its sad dawg- you can't say coz its true - and few of them have their own involved in it or somehow somewhere all of us are connected to either end of this civil unrest.

especially - this one goes out to all my fellow nepalese abroad - don't criticise the act of the king - coz somebody had to do it - and thankfully its not you.

Moral of the Story - you live once - get your spot. Rest of it, let the time tell it. Hehe....get it......nepres. Holla!

Lesson - so now its up to us to paint a perfect picture. In the midst of this act by the King followed by all the international condemnation we shall remember that the King is doing it for the country and its people. They had a chance and they blew it - remember that - only we as a citizen can feel the pain - not the government of other countries - So - now you are either a true nepali or not at all. Choice is yours.

I support this move not quite whole heartedly, but support nonetheless. To me this was necessary if nothing then for the stability of the Nepal. I don't have to rehash what is happening after 1990 - everybody knows it. Yes we do not have the autocractic Panchyati regime anymore, but look around us. What kind of regime do we have? An anarchist regime. Freedom of the press regime but thievery regime. Talk to an average street person. Who do you hear him/her supporting? Blood thirsty Maoist who kill any innocent Nepali in a village chowk while onlookers gawk without saying a word? The mutlipary neta who shake in their boots and start talking in Hindi (mind you not in an acceptable universal language English) saying aap and huzoor when any dignitaries from India come. These netas are so irrelevant even the maosist don't want to talk to them.

Mind you this is not the first time King Gyanendra did this. What, maybe 3rd time? He may utterly fail again - give into the pressure of bully India or self-righteous USA, or self-proclaimed nepali Republicans, or maybe he may not - this time. I just want him to carry on and show some clear thinking how he wants to solve the problem that is eating Nepal in such a rapid pace.

I don't know what an average street person says, but the following data gives pretty good picture of what the sons and daughters of the average street person say.

With due apology, hai ?

We all know that Deuba wouldn't have been able to do anything to restore peace and order to the country. Something had to be done, and I think what the King has done is the right move, and I doubt that the King did it with an ill-intentions. Why? First of all, he probably knew in planning this thing the repercussions of this move. An absolute monarch won't survuive in a world where democracy is everything. If he chooses to restore the panchayat, then soon US and India will be nipping at his heels. Also, there were newsreports about discussions between the King and the Indian foreign secretary about this move. Although India discouraged him to do so, the fact that he had informed them about his intentions again shows that he's not planning some permanent takeover.

But why is this a good thing? Because Nepal would have gotten no where with the status quo. Sometimes you have to break the law to enforce the law. I mean, all this talk about regression, the constitution and democracy seriously hasn't gotten us anywhere. I think the King knows what he's doing, and I think he'll have the international support required to bring peace to the country.

I don't think anybody is unknown from the fact that our country is in terible situation, where one one thing is certain , that is uncertainity.

Of course, credit for this consequence goes for everybody, not only king, or political parties and maoists, but also we people, being the citizen of this country we have to share equally. I don't mean to hurt anybody..this is the fact ..the bitter truth...please take it easy everybody.....I knwo everybody is frustated at this moment..

The question is wether the present step of the king is right or wrong..?

Me as a supporter of democracy, I believe the king's step is absulately wrong decission , nomatter what he thought before making decission.....good or bad...

I knwo , u know everybody knows, 12 years of multiparty practice didn't came what we expected. Political leaders turned out to be corupted...and the hatred figure...

but i wanna ask everybody that..... was there any good time in the history of nepal ???after the Rana took over the power.Since i'm not the student of history or political science i don't know mcuh abt history...but as much as i know, our country never saw the light of development...yes offcopurse there were some..but that is very very....less what u r supposed to do being the leader of hte nation..

After 2007 BS the there was lil hope among the people of nepal something could happen and they might be able to smile.. ...but in the early age , when democracy was creeping, the head of that little baby was chopped off...late sri paach mahendra....which is trying to be carbon copied bye the present his majesty......

And started another new drama in the history "panchayat" now i wanna ask everybody..that what 30 years of panchayet gave to us...
Please take the help of statistic once...litracey percentage at that time and now...,etc.well u might say there was peace..and i also want to remind you nepal was even more poeacefull in the time of RANA according to my grandfather.....if everybody;s moth is shut then peace is inevitable.....dude ....

Here i'm not not not not trying to tell that 12 yers of democratic practice was good...i am really frustated as every citizen ..but sometime i wanna think everbody of ur oen life...how many people are educated in ur place now and ask everybody to ur elder how many were educated at the time of panhcayet...check the life status of the citizen...how many people can aford to come abroad like us..now and in those time...the significant development is media....and which plays the most important role to aware people...which is now cutt off unfortunately...cuz i guess king thinks that nation wants to go and enjoy those early time when there was "peace" ....like in panchyat....

I like Distri Saptahik survey and it was taken at March 2004. Why you don't look for new survey and if you like to check new survey you don't have to go too far, it's on the right side of www.sajha.com. What abou this??? All these people is ours friends and mostly educated and mostly they don't live in Nepal but remeber they are Nepali and they want's see peace and long term stability in Nepal.

Good luck to King Gyanendra.

Jai Nepal,
Sagun

Sagun ji, but all these people on Sajha dont go to college in Nepal and therefore not forced to support the lleaders like Gagan ji. Only the votes from politically affiliated students count. I hope you understand what the "Student Referendum" means: it means the referendum of the people who go to college but not for studies. In Nepal people like us stay home or take tuition class to study. College is for ... you know what I mean.
