last one does not work for me either. I was verifying with ksh but as u have mentioned..will give a shot with csh the next time.

One more thing in Window OS

Right click on window desktop->New->Folder

Name it either of : con or nul or aux.

Can you do that?

Open MS Word and type

=rand(100,1) and press enter

see what happens??
