Why are we celebrating indian idol more than our dashain, tihar and gai jatra ? It's good that a young boy of Nepali origin won Indian idol. We are happy for him for making a mark from the Nepali community of India. We certainly are more happy than we would have been if another indian would have own. But he is not a Nepali citizen. Why are we making this stuff more important than necessary when we are not being able to celebrate even the most important of our festivals, national celebrations and anything that makes us believe what we are.

We Nepalis have always been victims of media hypes of Indian channels. What is Indian Idol ? Just another reality show that grabs senses of so many people. I don't believe that indian idol is one of the best singers india has. Media picks some guys with some skills and make such a big projection of the show and the participants that people stop seing anything beyound that. And that indian idol mania grabs senses of Nepali people more than Nepals political scenarios. I can say that a common Nepali l these days talks more about Indian idol than nepals political situations and situations.

The point that I am trying to emphasize here is attitude of a common Nepali that is dragging nepal back to ice age. The most important thing that is keeping us back is that we don't love our country and our people. I have nothing to do with Indian Idol. That's just another foreign television show that comes and goes, regardless of who wins and who loses. Just talking about 200 years old gorkhali stories won't make us become Nepali. This is the time all nepali should be focussed on the interest of the country and our people and our values and celebrations rather than wasting time on Indian idol and the like stuffs.

more disgusting was the declaration of PT, an indian national, as brand ambassador by the Tourism Board of Nepal, another government entity.

With the twist of indian idol, India is convincing Nepalese that Nepal is too small, join with India, and look at Prashant tamang, the name and fame a nepali can gain being an indian is far more better than just being a nepali. The mass in india is too big, and so will be the fame, as Prashant got it. SO India is playing all sort of tricks to indianize Nepal.

Indianizing Nepal by India is no more a DOUBT, I think. It's reality now. These days, I only get to watch indianized commercials on TV channels in Nepal. I hate my own politicians. And constantly indian politicians covertly preaching our leaders, and our leaders are dancing in indian tunes.

Although I'm happy and up for Prasant's win, but I've always voiced againt too much (I mean too much) influence of Indian media and entertainment in Nepal, esp Kathmandu. I always got vague answer, disconcern when I brought them among my family and friends.
Prasant would have never been singing Hindi songs had it not been the previous and current generation and their influence by Bollywood garbage. You get what you paid for. So it's not too fair to blame an individual.
Some people have written(out of jealousy??) that Sony made money and this and that.Whle it's 100% true but it's not that we're throwing away money to Indian for the first time. Just imagine if all Nepali had to watch non pirated Bollywood movies and dramas, can you imagine the amount of money that we throw every hour to India? This time we had to throw for the support for your distant relative, so why so much drama?
I personally don't watch anything Indians, not that I hate them, but I want to be far and away from their influence. It's either Nepali(no matter how crap) or Western. You might say,why Western then. The answer is "It's better"

The worst thing imaginable is when Nepali living abroad still cannot get out of that coccon, here're some example right here in Sajha.

If u ask to ten Nepalese about their likings India, all will definately say that they hate them. Now say, whatever happens and will happen, dhoti can not do anything to nepal. jsu t because of being small sized doesn't mean they can eat our land so easily. We have a great evidents of past and Nepali janta are still brave to save our land. a small mis lead in the way by our politicians cannot lessen our pride in the world guys. Dhotis are always dominated and disliked. they are the world worst corrupted minded people. Prasahnt win is our great pride to them as a little people challenged a huge crowd for the title.and be it known once more though he bears indian citizenship, he is a nepali and that u can c it in every part of indian idol by his act.e has nepalipan all the time, thats why he prefers nepali song.
