What will happen after the Election in Nepal? The answer is simple history will repeat. The winning party will make money try to recover what they lost in all these years. In the other hand, losing party will name it as Bribe and corrupt government. They will call people for another strike, Nepal bandh and chakha jam. If Maoist wins: I guess they will be in government for a while. But then as maoist has grown bigger. IT would be hard to control everyone. I guess lotta Maoist guerilla will try to control the crime in their area violently rather than police being active person to control the crime. Also we have to mention that every Maoist will try take advantage for there personnel violently rather than working. Do you guys think Maoist people will drop there guns and start working for there living? I don’t think so they have being betraying the 8th party ever since they joined the government. What about Nepali Congress: I guess they united for the election. Coz by now they have known that United we stand, divided we fall. It is to win the Election. if the party is one the collective seat they gonna win would be more and so the chances of winning the election is more. Rest of the party: No way they gonna win. If they win they wont be supported by other party forcing them to leave the government. After all if the Eight party cannot work peacefully among themselves before the election. Do you really think they will cooperate each other after the election. Lets keep our heads together to find what’s right for Nepal.

Piranha, that is right,..that's what i thought at first. But i think there will be a slight change because people are a bit aware now, and hopefully the check and balnace system by the opponents will foster. There won't be a tremendous chage for sure, but i think and believe that there will be a bit of reform in "Politics as usual" tag of Nepal. "Progress happens little by litte and gets cumulated at the end" this is my experience and belief.
Guys lets discuss more on this matter.

Finally no Election in November. To make it more clear , i want to say that , i want this thread to be more about election in nepal , not the november election. And i am sure there will be an election in nepal someday..... And my concern is will nepal see any development after the election. Or is it just a drama to show the world that nepal is working on peace process.......In my personal view...rest of the world (USA and EU) thinks that election is the only way for peace process and after that everything will be fine....i dont think so..as of now there is no good leader or poltical party in nepal that can be trusted.....and if we can trust there are more poltical party who are ready to bring down the government......so i dont think election is the answer for the development of nepal....maybe Devlopment of nepal and poltical affair should be totally seperated and should not interfare each other...And thats not possible... there are people who want to see thee developement in nepal rather than protesting each other and fighting for the power....If there is to be developement and we want peace in country.....why not held election as it is...why fight for democratic ,autocratic ,, monarch, or maoism or republic...and so onn....we want peace ....not a fight for peace....

Instead of election, I think there should be a realistic TV show like Indian idol. We can name it Nepali Nayak or something else. Like in Indian idol or American idol, first few rounds of the show will be controlled by educated and experienced people of Nepal—judges. In this round judges will test for basic qualification—such as education, back ground, personality etc—of each contestant. After that, each contestant will exhibit his or her talent, vision, and set goals to develop the country in their own way. Most importantly, he or she will explain his/her strategy how he or she will go about to achieve the goals. Then public will judge and choose the leader who majority of population will think is right and who is capable and successful to convince majority of population of Nepal among all the contestants

Wake up Guys!
ELECTIONS HAVE BEEN POSTPONED INDEIFINITELY!
GP has ordered a special session of 'parliament' on Oct 1th, 2007. According to RUMOR MILLS it is possible that THERE WILL BE A NEW PRIME MINISTER.
Goodbye Girija????
The fact of the matter is: Maoists terrorists have taken the whole country for a ride and with their threats are holding the country for RANSOM.
We CAN LOOK FORWARD TO LOT OF TURMOIL IN immediate FUTURE.
The current US Ambassador Mrs Powell is a lady with guts. She like her predecessor is strongly against the tactics of maoists terrorists. As long as we have strong diplomats like her we can be happy. She will not tolerate the nonsense of maoists terrorists. She strongly condemned postponement of elections.
Maoists are afraid they will even get ONE SEAT in elections and now resorting to these bullying-tactics.

Why does European union and UN wants election in nepal so bad? Do they think election will restore the peace in nepal or are they just want it for the heck of it.

More Khun Kharaba in country. That was bound to happen. Bring democracy by holding hands with terrorits, you cannot!
First they need to brought to justice. People learnt that you can fullfil your demands by creating terror..coz government is not strong and has no means to control any violence.
I doubt there will be any election, even if does it will be heavily skewed to one side or the other, more guns whoever has.

Do not drag king , too much, let him alone. If Prachand and his party looses he will survive for couple years. I do not see much difference between him and Prachanda. Prachanda killed Nepali janta in the name of politics; he killed his brother to get the kingship. Still, if asked to choose between King and Prachnda, my favor goes to king.
